Greater than one weekBest self-teaching Java and Minecraft curriculum a kid could ask for. My daughter absolutely loved this program. It integrates great teaching videos, a programming environment, great support and more! Even I enjoyed watching and participating in the lessons while seeing her creations play out live on Minecraft.

22-11-2024A couple of things that you should be aware of before you buy. This course does not help you write Minecraft plugins, which is what most kids want to do. Also, it is only for single user mode and does not help you with servers, which is what most kids want to play on

> 3 dayIm pretty disappointed with this class. Its overpriced for what you get. Something in the $100 range would seem more appropriate. The videos are fun and engaging but tech support is very slow and the Java platform and Minecraft versions are out of date. Three times we have tried to submit his final mod. Each time they respond back asking him to fix the errors. He cannot find any errors and it runs perfectly fine on our computer. They havent been able to give us any support as to why what they are seeing is different from what we are seeing. This is extremely frustrating especially since the class expires in a few weeks and we are no closer to getting this issue resolved than we were a month ago when it first came up. At this point Im just done! I would say, if you can get this as part of a lightening deal or at a significantly reduced price, go for it but as it runs right now, Id avoid it.

Greater than one weekMod Design 1 is a fantastic program for mine craft enthusiasts! I recommend this to kids 8-14. My 11 year old was a bit skeptical at first because his Christmas gift was a online class, however, once he got started, he couldnt get enough! I am excited to give this review as STEM teacher-this is a must have for your brainiac! This took mine craft to a whole other level. The program is excellent and easy to follow. The instructors are only an e-mail away and are always great about personalizing their responses. Thank you Youth Digital!;)

> 3 dayI have a 10 year old son who loves Minecraft and recording Minecraft videos for Youtube. He does not have a server yet. I liked the idea to have him learn Java and improve his gaming. He would not be into coding if it wasnt for this avesome product. I would advise parents to spend 1 hour setting up an account with Youth Digital (provider) and downloading the files. Make sure that firewalls allow for installation and so on. And the let your kid loose once everything is working. Dont get your kid totally excited about uploading their own sword and they you spend an hour rebooting and creating folders. It was the best thing I got my son all year. The guy who teaches the kids in the videos is on the kids level, respectful, has a nice language and is a good role model. Somebody commented on his voice being weird, buts its sounds good to me. Which I had a science teacher like that in school :)

> 3 dayBeyond my expectations! This has really got my kid to really focus on something that is both educational (learn about programming), fun to do(building something that no one else can do) and rewarding (gets to see it in action). Highly recommended.

> 3 dayWhen the company youth digit owned and produced the product it worked wonderfully and was an awesome homeschooling tool. When youth digital was sold to APEX LEARNING it became part of a curriculum that they offer and the boxed software packaged by youth digital no longer works... DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT AS IT NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AND SHOULD NO LONGER BE SOLD BY ANY COMPANY WITH A CONSCIENCE.

> 3 dayMy kids love Minecraft. I had been wanting them to learn how to create mods in order to segue their passion for Minecraft into some programming knowledge. My son and I had read lots of internet content, then spent a very frustrated weekend trying to teach ourselves to mod with no results.
