> 3 dayMy son, almost 8, is halfway through the Mod Design 1 course and loves it! His favorite part of each module is when he can actually see and use the things he created while in Minecraft. He loves taking screen shots to show his friends at school! He is able to do all of the work by himself but I do sit with him so I can act as a resource if he is stuck. He has learned a lot of basic computer skills as well as the programming skills by taking this course. Im very impressed with the content and the delivery and we will definitely check out other Youth Digital courses in the future!

Greater than one weekProduct is pretty good. The step by step programming instruction is well organized that my son can easily follow it through. The presenter on the videos are too comical for my son too. :)

> 3 dayPricey, but based on how much my son loved it and how much he learned, it was worth every penny. If this starts him off on a path to a career in software engineering, its actually pretty cheap.

Greater than one weekMy 9 year old boy (he is 10 now) could not wait to learn how to code his favorite game. I paid about $200 for the course about 6 months ago. We were exited and could not wait. He never got a chance to write a single line of code because we never passed the initial installation step. I tried two different computers. Both Dell Laptops with at least 2 GB of RAM and plenty of disk space. We followed the video instructions point by point. The customer service was no help either because the only way they could help according to their email response was for me to call them during business hours (east cost time, we live in California) so they could remote into our computer to figure out the problem. I am still hoping to plan a day off but I first have to schedule it with Youth Digital and then get day off on that day so their technician can remote into the computer to figure out the problem. And I have to do that before my 1 year runs out, in about 6 months!! I used to be a programmer but mostly in Microsoft world. My experience with Java is limited but I could not imagine installing this would be that problematic. If you know your way around in Java you probably will have a better luck. Youth Digital should refund your money if you cannot use their product. I dont know if they do or not. I have not asked for this yet because I am still hopeful to get a day off to make it work.

> 3 dayMod Design 1 is a fantastic program for mine craft enthusiasts! I recommend this to kids 8-14. My 11 year old was a bit skeptical at first because his Christmas gift was a online class, however, once he got started, he couldnt get enough! I am excited to give this review as STEM teacher-this is a must have for your brainiac! This took mine craft to a whole other level. The program is excellent and easy to follow. The instructors are only an e-mail away and are always great about personalizing their responses. Thank you Youth Digital!;)

> 3 dayI unschool my 8 year old, which means we learn what hes interested in as deeply as he wants to learn it. He asked to learn how to mod Minecraft, so we bought the Youth Digital Mod Design 1 course. We even learned something installing it (Java can be installed in both 32 bit an 64 bit on the same machine and to mod, youll need 64 bit installed). Within an hour of starting the course, he had installed the necessary tools by himself and had created his own sword in Gimp, modified code in Eclipse and was able to use his sword in Minecraft. He didnt stop talking about it for days.
