Zoo Med Floating Turtle Log

I have a 20 something year old red ear slider turtle. She has a 75 gallon tank. I bought this as an experiment as to whether she would use it or not. She loves it. While she spend a lot of time swimming around the tank, she also enjoys climbing up to get dry under the UVB and heat lights. I would buy this again and again if need be.

I have an RES hatchling and he has finally begun to use this log. In the beginning, I was worried that it was too steep for him to climb up... but thats not the case at all. He slowly started to warm up to me and started begging for food at every single opportunity he got... so I got sneaky. I started putting the food pellets on top of this log. When I came home from work, I noticed them to be mysteriously gone. Was he actually basking during the day? Had I been worried for nothing? Gradually, he started to feel comfortable going on his log even when I was in the same room. He now regularly perches on top of his log and extends his cute little head out for some UVA/UVB lights :-) Mine is a baby, less than an inch, and is faring well. The log is bottom heavy so it will NOT tip over. I plunk it in the water upside down and it immediately rights itself over. It is not sharp so when he slides off it to go back in the water I am not worried about his shell getting scratched. It is aesthetically pleasing and natural looking. Definite buy!

Our turtle loves her log. We have a small pond in our backyard and I ordered this so our turtle could sun bathe. Its perfectly weighted and stays afloat.

I bought for ACF and they love it, along with my blood parrots they were both hanging out in it by the end of the first day. I see them selling in stores anywhere from $45-50 I got online for $27. It is very big as i was hoping, wouldnt reccomend for anything under 50 gal due to size. Over all a happy customer got product with 3 days

I don’t have a turtle, but I bought this for my garter snakes. They love it! It serves as a hide and a basking spot under their lamp. I see them curled up on it all the time.

When I first saw this in the store, it shocked me at how perfect it looked for my turtle pond. I bought it for far more than i paid for my second one here, but it was still worth it. I saw the turtles spending most of their time hiding in it. I have: Red-Ear Slider - Kespacho Western Painted Map - Atlas Reeves - Christopher Reeves African Side Neck - Sophie the Sophie and Reeves spend most of their time in the logs while Kespacho and Atlas roam around. My biggest concern was that it would not hold a 3-5LB turtle, but I was very wrong I would creep up to the pond and catch them over and over with Multiple turtle on a single log. I have never to date seen them crawl up there, so I am not sure how they do it. The point is they can and do. My only modification I have made to mine was to create an anchor point using a small Anchor stone and some fishing wire which I have now changed to cotton thread. Even though Ill have to change the thread more often the Turtles can see it better so they wont get tangled. The Detail on the outside when new is very good to excellent. It is very durable product wise having had mine in an outdoor pond now for about 4 months. I would state that the paint coloring has dulled a bit but the tint of algae has crept in so it doesnt affect it much. Its weighted perfectly so it floats very well for them to come up to it. If you have a turtle in the mid range which may get stuck in the opening I would recommend removing it till they have put on another 1/2 inch. Overall a 5 star product especially for the price.

I have two smaller painted turtles who both love to bask upon this log. I have had this log for about three years now, and while it does show some wear (ala color loss due to the lamps) it still works fine. However, if you do have larger turtles it might be best to not buy this product (most pet stores have this in stock, so you can go over there to get an idea to see how big this actually is).

Weighted underneath so it doesnt roll. My turtle loves it. She sleeps in it every nite!
