Greater than one weekI have a few cat-5 lines in my house that I needed to connect to my router. This is perfect!

> 3 dayThe Real HD ethernet network switch is like many others; it works to share internet access with multiple networked devices. Unlike many others, however, this switch can also electrically power its connected devices. After I figure out what 48V surveillance cameras to buy, I’ll be mounting them on the corners of my house and networking and powering them with this Real HD switch. This switch can also be used to power network access points and VOIP phones giving me the ability to expand my network further. While the Real HD switch does its basic switching function well, I was happy to find that its metal enclosure also keeps the switch cool during use. A plus in my mind is its built-in power supply. Most inexpensive switches use an external power supply that takes up an entire wall outlet. This switch occupies one 120V wall socket leaving the other available for powering additional electrical devices. The economical Real HD 4 port PoE switch does everything I buy an ethernet switch for plus it gave me a powered network expansion option that I’m taking advantage of.

> 3 dayFor small networks unmanaged PoE switches are fine for phones and cameras. This works well. Easy to mount and use. No problem powering up 10 cameras and a phone. Its about time switches started coming down in price and having quality to them.

> 3 dayThis device works really great It was really easy to install. You can hook up every camera you need to and have it all coming to one display. Very happy with how it works. The device itself also seems to be pretty heavy duty, which is a definite, added bonus.

> 3 daySome updates: The fanless design. When a constant sound just disappears, only then do you realize the level of quiet you can achieve. I didnt realize how much fan noise my old POE switch created. Now, if only I could somehow reduce/remove the fan noise from my NVR. The SFP ports. As far as I can tell, these ports are not meant for tandem/redundant use. Meaning, you cant run both SFP ports to the same device. There are some devices out there that do have redundant ports but in my use and testing, this switch is not one of them. You really only need the SFP ports if you are using the VLAN mode. If not, just use one of the 16 ports as an uplink. You can also find a cheap SFP RJ45 module (youd only need one--I got two unnecessarily) for your uplink and still have 16 available POE ports. And even if you use a SFP port for an uplink, VLAN is optional. Im only using 9 POE devices so I cant speak on the power delivery. Its more than enough for my current setup. Ive only been using it for a couple months or so and just cleaned up the cabling. Added some shielded CAT8 cables (overkill). Its been working great. Also no changes in temperature in my cabinet. Its also been colder than usual but still the cabinet has the same airflow in a climate controlled building so no temperature change, for me, is a good thing. Original review: Great POE switch with rack brackets included. Would work just sitting on a shelf as well. Having the 2 SFP ports is an upgrade for me but I didnt expect and dont see a performance difference. I suppose I need faster equipment to be able to see a difference. Or speeds just hit a ceiling at my (low) level. It was a simple swap... As simple as unplugging and plugging cables can be. Nothing more to add really. Its a switch and it does what it says.

> 3 dayThis POE switch is a great upgrade to my home network. I still might use or find a place for my old switch, but this poe version will go well with a couple of cameras for the exterior. It really simplifies the process of installing said camera by running just a single wire, and not having (another device) dependent on wifi. The switch is plug and play, easy to setup. It is rated at gigabit, which is the max in my area, but might be a consideration for those qho have or will have faster internet available in their area; especially if this is purchased in an effort to futureproof your setup. Definitely recommended!

I replaced a couple much smaller and older models that were not working as well as they should have. There has been a noticeable increase in performance with this and everything wired in the same place is much more convenient. Very happy!

> 3 dayThis switch feels well built. The metal construction gives it some weight. This is an unmanaged switch with some options that I have not used. It has 2 sfp ports as well as the 16 poe ports. Throughput is gig speed and consistent.

01-04-2025I have a stand-alone reolink ip camera and both an indoor and outdoor router that needed POE so I got this POE switch. This is an unmanned switch to is was pretty much plug and play for my devices to work. What I like about this switch is that it has a built in power supply instead of having to find a compatible power brick that can power your connected devices. The switch also has a fiber input or output, this is not something I’m familiar with but I guess it’s nice to have just incase. Overall the switch has been working fine so far, my devices use about 24w of power each and the switch seems to provide it just fine.

> 3 dayIve used a number of POE switches over the past couple of years. I bought this as a backup for an older switch. This one is especially well suited for surveillance type networks. With 30W per port (total for switch is 300W), its more than capable of powering the cameras that are installed. It has an internal power supply so theres no power brick just a standard power cord. When I received it, I unboxed the switch to look it over. Its a well made switch. The case is metal and can be used as a desktop system or it can be rack/wall mounted (mounting brackets included in the package). Noise is not an issue as it is fanless. The switch has some nice basic features. 1) It can run in 3 different modes. A standard mode where each device can communicate with every device, a vlan mode where each port can only communicate with the uplink ports and an extended mode in which instead of 100m limits on the length of the cable its extended to 250m but the transmission rate is slowed down to accommodate the extended distance. 2) It has a watchdog function. If a device goes offline, the switch will attempt to restart it. 3) Built in surge protection. 4) 2 1000M uplink ports. What you have to keep in mind is that this is a 10/100MB switch which is fine for cameras, printers and any other devices that have low data bandwidths but would not be suitable for networks with computers.
