> 3 dayThe Real HD switch is perfect for my project. Initially the switch will be used for POE and regular devices within the range of Cat6 RJ45 copper cables. Very soon I will be expanding the network and moving devices to another building which is out of range of copper cables. So the SFP port will be used with Single Mode fiber. I tested the RJ45 ports with non-POE devices and they worked perfectly. The switch is powered by mains AC (110V). I have yet to try the VLAN feature but need to research how to do that using this switch and what it will offer my projects.

> 3 dayThis POE switch is a great upgrade to my home network. I still might use or find a place for my old switch, but this poe version will go well with a couple of cameras for the exterior. It really simplifies the process of installing said camera by running just a single wire, and not having (another device) dependent on wifi. The switch is plug and play, easy to setup. It is rated at gigabit, which is the max in my area, but might be a consideration for those qho have or will have faster internet available in their area; especially if this is purchased in an effort to futureproof your setup. Definitely recommended!

Greater than one weekThis switch is robust and has more features than I need, at least for now. I just wanted something to chain into my home network to accommodate a laptop that runs my security system, and a couple wired IP PoE cameras. Bear in mind that this is supplying 48V for PoE, so make sure you have PoE equipment rated for that. Its sturdy, and has an internal power supply, so it plugs into a grounded outlet via a cord (no cheap wall wart, yay!). It works well for me in default mode, and if I needed it to work over longer runs, I could set it for extended which would boost the power, at the expense of speed, but still fast enough for cameras. I will probably never need to use the VLAN option, but its there and someone is going to need it. Its really a decent PoE switch and packs a lot of value for the money. Five stars.
