> 3 dayThis switch is a descent option for a low budget switch where you run a flat single VLAN. It shows this able to run the higher POE power rating with AT & AF standards. Currently I do not have an AT device to test this with, so I cannot confirm that option. Next it has a fiber port, which is the reason I wanted it. A short fiber loop test indicates the port is functional but I cannot find the technical specs on port specifics. In the end I am going to install this outside in an outdoor enclosure with a POE camera and mesh AP using a fiber link to my core switch. At this time, I do not have all those components so I cannot test this switch to its full capabilities yet.

> 3 daySome updates: The fanless design. When a constant sound just disappears, only then do you realize the level of quiet you can achieve. I didnt realize how much fan noise my old POE switch created. Now, if only I could somehow reduce/remove the fan noise from my NVR. The SFP ports. As far as I can tell, these ports are not meant for tandem/redundant use. Meaning, you cant run both SFP ports to the same device. There are some devices out there that do have redundant ports but in my use and testing, this switch is not one of them. You really only need the SFP ports if you are using the VLAN mode. If not, just use one of the 16 ports as an uplink. You can also find a cheap SFP RJ45 module (youd only need one--I got two unnecessarily) for your uplink and still have 16 available POE ports. And even if you use a SFP port for an uplink, VLAN is optional. Im only using 9 POE devices so I cant speak on the power delivery. Its more than enough for my current setup. Ive only been using it for a couple months or so and just cleaned up the cabling. Added some shielded CAT8 cables (overkill). Its been working great. Also no changes in temperature in my cabinet. Its also been colder than usual but still the cabinet has the same airflow in a climate controlled building so no temperature change, for me, is a good thing. Original review: Great POE switch with rack brackets included. Would work just sitting on a shelf as well. Having the 2 SFP ports is an upgrade for me but I didnt expect and dont see a performance difference. I suppose I need faster equipment to be able to see a difference. Or speeds just hit a ceiling at my (low) level. It was a simple swap... As simple as unplugging and plugging cables can be. Nothing more to add really. Its a switch and it does what it says.

> 3 dayAs the title says this is a solid switch for general purposes. But for those who are starting or upgrading their home lab Id suggest investing in something better, this wont have all of the functionality youre looking for.

> 3 dayThis switch came neatly packaged with the switch itself, a standard D-power cord, a 2-Year Warranty card with a QR code to register it, and a small general instruction fold-out. Initial impressions were reasonably good considering the price. The construction feels solid, cables click into the ports firmly without being overly snug and the ability to power it with just a standard power cord rather than a DC Adapter is very nice for a desktop switch. With the switch in default mode (as set by the slide switch on the front) the four ports provide 48v POE+ at 1Gbps and happily powered and connected a Ubiquiti UniFi AP Pro Access Point I had along with a notebook on one of the other ports. The switch also includes a 1Gbps RJ45 Uplink port along with an SFP port which can take up to a 1Gbps Fiber Module. The instruction sheet is very basic and general to a number of the manufacturers switches, but as this is a basic unmanaged switch its operation is pretty straightforward. All in all this is a very handy little POE desktop switch and offers a good value for the price.

> 3 daySo to get this out of the way first, I did not have an immediate need for PoE, but was looking to expand my switch capacity in my basement in preparation for eventually getting my cameras and knowing they will be wired down to the basement. The unit came packaged well, looks good, and appears to be of solid construction. One downside to me is I would have liked to have wall-mounts on the bottom of the unit so that I could easily hang it from the wall. To me this is the only reason I wont be giving this a 5 star rating at this point. It seems like a bit of an oversight to me. To be perfectly clear, the listing didnt say that it could be mounted, but I guess I had an expectation for virtually every device like this to have mount points on the bottom. I replaced my 5 port switch that was being fed by my fiber router, which also connects to two ethernet feeds to my mesh network. I havent noticed any sort of decrease in performance, no weirdness like dropped packets or anything. But then again, a switch is pretty much a switch, so I wouldnt have expected to have anything work any worse or better in terms of ethernet switching. Once we get the cameras ordered and installed and use this for PoE I will update the review.

> 3 dayI have this switch connected 800 feet away to my barn that has 4 POE Reolink cameras. The uplink connection is via the SFP fiber port. Its crazy that they can offer a such a device for less than $30 - a steal of a deal especially with fiber. And to add to this, the power supply is built in so you dont have to deal with power bricks.

> 3 dayI ordered this to replace an 8-port POE switch that wasnt capable of powering all of my cameras. This powers them all and also works to connect both of my NVRs, my NAS media server and my color laser printer to my home network. I have it set up in my basement, under the living rooms home theater system. I now have more open ports available for future network devices as well. Couldnt be happier with its performance. 5 Stars from me!

Greater than one weekThis Ethernet switch has PoE support for all ports, is commercial quality, a good value and meets my expectations. Several mounting options are provided including rack mountable. A panel switch easily enables three different configuration modes (VLAN port isolation, link extension, shared network). Im happy with this product and recommend it.
