This file is an amazing value. It removes material as fast as a Kutzall file, has both medium and fine sides and is comfortable to use. Shaping sculpted chairs and tables with it is a real pleasure, I wrapped some baseball bat grip tape on mine to let me use it without fatigue for a couple of hours at a time. After finish shaping with the fine side you can go straight to 80 grit and then progress though the grits to get a smooth as you like. For the money, this a must have tool.

I was taught to build guitars with one of these things, and the very first neck I made was flawless. Now I use a CNC machine for most of my work, but I still keep this thing by for doing body modifications - it eats through the wood as fast as you like, and when you need a gentler grazing, you just flip it around. Id rate this thing up there with the hammer or a saw.

Excellent rasp, no clog, quicly cleans out the area. I used it to clean up some square notches I cut and it was fast and easy. I would love to see this is a 6in and 2 inch width as well for smaller work

Im starting to reach for this rasp more than my others. Its not like my others are slouches either. I work with hand tools mostly so I have an assortment of quality rasps and files. I thought this was cheap looking with the plastic handle and the design with the blades and also the price. Ive paid more than double for some of my other rasps. Dont be fooled though. Despite its looks, this thing performs top notch. It does a variety of things as well. Dont listen to other reviewers saying it can only flatten a surface. This is selling it way short of its potential. If you know how to use rasps and files you will have no problem with figuring out how to make this thing so whatever you want. Just last night I tried using for tuning up an outside corner on crown molding. And it worked very well! Pretty surprising! If that doesnt tell you all you need to know I dont know what else will. Sometimes you just have to try things out to see whats possible. This thing is a keeper and Ill be buying both sizes!

very suprised, i needed a rasp and all the high end, very expensive ones where on back order, the virus i suppose, so i ordered this one. Man this thing is a wood hog it will move wood like now!! But it is rough i then use a single cut smoothing file to dress the rasps marks up i highely reccomend it, and it wont break the bank to get one!!!
