> 3 dayWow this thing hogs the wood off. I’m really happy with this rasp. Pics of a mallet I’m shaping. Start with the rough side, fine tune it with the fine tooth side.

> 3 dayI use this to rough-shape bows. Heard about it in the traditional bowyers bible. Eats through hardwood pretty well. Somebody had a really good idea when they thought this up.

Greater than one weekWorth the cost. Fine and coarse sides shave off hardwood and leave a smooth surface.

29-03-2025Not an everyday tool but it can flat out rasp wood. I bought one for Christmas for all my woodworking buddies. Solid quality.

> 3 dayThis is the best rasp I have ever used, hands down. It is more effective in removing wood material of all kinds, and its coarse and finer sides gives it flexibility in varied applications. This same rasp is also made with a forward located handle for your off hand (have not seen it on Amazon) but if you want to use the other side, the handle has to be removed and re-secured on the opposite side. One caution is that because its surface is essentially flat, if there is a concave curve in the surface you’re working on, if not careful, it can be easy to create a gouge with the edge of the rasp. Would like to see one with a bit of a convex surface on both sides.

30-03-2025I used this to shape a cheap guitar neck. The Shinto saw removed the wood easily and did not clog up at all. The coarse side did the bulk of the work then used the fine side to do some cleanup. I saved so much time using this tool I am now taking up a second language. Yup, you guessed it, German.

> 3 dayBrilliant tool, works better than I could possibly imagine. Not so great for inside a curve - swap to a rounded file for that- but this did a great job on a mahogany guitar body, didnt split the wood at all and the fine side left with a surprisingly good end that was easy to finish.
