9 Shinto Saw Rasp

Very good rasp at a reasonable price.

This rasp is so wildly effective and good at what it does so as to be not only the best rasp Ive ever worked with or owned, but also possibly the best TOOL Ive ever owned by measure of does what its supposed to do with stunning effectiveness. Its absolutely the best rasp on the market, and if you feel otherwise, you are shaming your ancestors and entire lineage. I was originally skeptical because Im a tried and true traditional kinda guy, and this was a design I was unfamiliar with, but within 1 minute of use I was a believer. Ive been using it for 6+ months to shave and square off oak planks, and it shows no signs of slowing down. It crushes the tasks at hand without hesitation and begs for more. Added bonus: Ive never heard it once complain. Buy it and change your life.

A tool every woodworker must have. Works on wood like molding on butter.

As others have said, you have to watch your technique while using this rasp or you might damage it, or injure yourself. I wear leather gloves most of the time. I used it to make two oars out of pine and fir, and I used this tool for much of the shaping. I was really reefing on it for several hours and did manage to pop one of the rivets that hold the hacksaw blades together. So now the rasp bends when I use it...it still works, but I suspect it will fail eventually. I recently ordered the 11 version to see how that one compares. Great tool, unique, and I would give it 5 stars if the rivets were stronger.

Well made tool. Two sides coarse and medium. Perfect for shaping wood.

Wish I had found this a long time ago. If you work with wood you won:t regret buying this one.

Awesome for shaping wood. Rough side removes material fast, smoother side removes material not has fast but leaves smoother surface.
