This rasp really removes wood well. I used it to shape some reclaimed barn wood and it cut through Oak really well and remove stock at a rapid Pace. I highly recommend this rasp for woodworking

Very satisfying to use. Id consider just take some old wood and working some kind of bevel angle or contour into it just as therapy.

WOW!!! I LOVE this rasp! Be careful when you first try it because you will find it such a joy to use you will take off way too much material. My only criticism would be that it could use some sort of handle on the front end. The teeth were taking off my finger prints. If they could make a round (or half-round) version, Id let the inventor marry my daughter.

great file for woodworking and works great for filing horses hooves which is what I really got it for. Wish I could get a bigger one.

I learned of this tool at a recent maritime museum workshop project class and used it extensively to shape and smooth wood prior to sanding. It is very effective. The only caution is to make sure it lies flat on the working surface. If inadvertently at an angle along the tool’s edge, it will rapidly cut an unwanted groove in your workpiece. At the close of the class, I dashed off to Amazon and purchased my own.

This is my first Japanese style rasp and Im extremely impressed. It removed more material in 20 minutes of work than my traditional rasp did in almost an hour. This is my new go to for hogging off material.

Pretty good, but not that much better than traditional rasps. The main advantage is to have a coarse and fine rasp in one. For the price, it is certainly worth it to add one to your tool chest.

Bought this to custom shape a headstock for a guitar Im building. Amazing results. Quality and heft of the thing makes feel like an $80+ piece of equipment.
