Midway into a cherry wood sculpture and am glad I bought one of these. Works great without gouging the wood and has both a coarse and fine side. Dont know yet as to how long these stay sharp so will follow up later. Wonder if there are curved versions of this?

This is an excellent addition to my carving tools. Works very well on spoons. Good price and made extremely well.

I used this to carve out the curved lines on a Sam Maloof inspired rocking chair; worked better than my hand rasps. takes wood off fast, but forgiving; not like a power sander or grinder, which can make a mess of your project if you get to aggressive. Works like a router to round an egde on wood really fast. Great Tool!!

This is an amazing tool, built from good materials with quality craftsmanship. It works great on all types of wood and is stowable in a pack for those outdoor jobs.

Works well for shaping wood. The coarse side removes material quickly, and the finer side smooths out the surface reasonably well afterwards, although you will need to sand or use a scrapper for the final smoothing. Quality of the tools finish is high. I have only started using it, so I cant speak to durability.

I am impressed with how this removes material! Both the course and fine side do an excellent job with little to no effort.

This is an extremely handy tool for rough shaping furniture legs, guitar neck blanks and so much more. Works fast and is completely controllable. I started carving with the coarse side to rough shape, then switched to fine to clean up the surface – with better than anticipated results! Finished up with 180- and 220-grit sandpaper, in record time vs. using a spoke shave. May have to order the planing version now...
