10-06-2025For context, I now own two of these monitors, and these are my first. I bought the first one back in May 2019 for my PS4 and Switch (I game a lot), and the second in October after building a PC. I originally loved keeping the 1ms response time I was accustomed to on my TV for under $200 (at the time of writing it is $169.99), and was fine with the display and picture quality (though it took some time to get used to the smaller screen compared to my 60in TV). The monitor has settings to change colors and what not and also features a Game Mode that I suspect is the Acer EyeProtect’s Flicker-less, Blue Light Filter, ComfyView and Low-dimming technology mode. But the real change came in September when I built my first PC and connected it to this monitor. Playing with 144hz does make a real difference when playing, allowing you to see things come in focus much quicker than the 60hz I was used to, and the 1ms response time feels amazing for those accustomed to 3ms or more. It does get bright and may hurt when gaming for 8 hour prolonged sessions, but you can turn on Game Mode or dim the lights through settings. Plus, the fact that its adjustable is great, allowing it to adjust to a proper height or angle. My buddy, who still plays with a PS4, got one after I recommended it for his short desk setup, and adjusting it so it was facing him was a huge bonus for him. And for the price point its a welcome addition. Overall, solid monitor for under $200 and these have been great starter monitors for PC gaming for me.

> 3 daySummary: This monitor was excellent for the first few months. After that, I got a dead pixel right in the center of the monitor. It shows as a red dot on a white background and is extremely distracting when reading text (emails, articles/blogs, etc). It likely would not affect gaming as much. Warranty Replacement: As other reviews stated, I contacted Acer and they wanted me to pay to ship back the monitor (UPS quotes ranged from $30-$50 for ground shipping depending on estimated size/weight of the package) and then they would repair it in 7-10 business days, then ship it back. I thought this was completely unacceptable because I run a business on this PC and cannot be without my monitor for an estimated 3-4 weeks. Thats basically telling me I cannot work for nearly a month while they try to fix a dead pixel. If youre ok with this warranty replacement process, by all means, get this monitor. But I believe this is an absolute ridiculous process between paying upwards of $50 to simply send a monitor back to the company where it should have been working in the first place, then also having to wait nearly a month to get it back. This will be the last product I buy from Acer. I never want to deal with this type of warranty process again.

> 3 dayI sold my 60hz ultrawide for this 144 because I had upgraded my pc and thought its stupid to be getting 100FPS+ and only have the monitor show 60. Right away when I plugged it in, even from moving the mouse I could feel and see the difference. This monitor is great and has a lot of settings and allows you to save setting profiles within the monitors software. 24 is massive and the stand easily holds its weight and feels really fluid when adjusting the monitor. The only downside to this monitor is the sound is from 2 tweeters and it sounds like actual garbage. I would def. recommend sticking to your headset/external speakers. They shouldnt even have the speakers in the monitor its a waste!

> 3 dayDecided to upgrade my display since Ive been rocking a couple 1080p 60Hz refurb panels for years. I was torn between getting a 1) 1080p ultra wide (60-100Hz), 2) 1440p 144Hz, or 3) 1080p 144Hz. I ended up with #3 obviously and man I can say I will NEVER go back to lower refresh rate gaming. Gaming at 60 Hz on my laptop screen is actually nauseating and feels clunky/disconnected. Gameplay in fast pace shooters (Apex Legends, BO4, BFV) is remarkably smoother and I have been performing noticeably better. The Freesync/GSync compatibility is great since Im not always able to hit 144fps on games with some settings cranked up. That was one reason I went with 1080p instead of 1440p. Im not a content creator but I do some photoshop edits and light room work and the color reproduction is fine in my opinion, I have experienced and seen better but this panel in no way limits me, but I dont think it aimed at professionals whatsoever. 10/10 would buy again.

Greater than one weekWorth the buy for the 144hz and G-Sync compatibility it has. Was a great combo with the GTX 1660TI I bought to play games with and NVIDIA announcing G-Sync compatibility to with many other monitors, this being one of them. Picture quality is okay, not the best, but just ok, monitor is very bright, had to lower the brightness so much just to stop it from hurting my eyes. One thing that really annoys me with this monitor, is that it often has problems detecting a video source, the monitor will cycle over and over through the video ports but wont detect anything even if there are things connected. This usually happens when the monitor and or computer goes to sleep. If any of those happen, it will more than likely never pick up the video source again and I have to force shut down the computer to fix it. I have searched online over this issue and it seems to be the monitor and not my GPU. This issue also happens when booting up the computer after the computer has been off(shut down). I have to have the monitor off, turn the computer on, wait to let the computer be in Windows Welcome/Log in screen to finally be able to turn on the monitor safely without having that video source issue. I kinda figured out a trick to know when its ready to turn the monitor back on, and its when my Logitech mouse stops cycling through the RGB colors and is set to 1 color because of the settings i have on it. Once the RGB on the mouse stops cycling, is when I know its at the windows log in screen and its safe to turn on the monitor to avoid the video source cycling issue. This is really annoying to deal with, and am taking a star off because of this. Should be 3 stars because of how annoying it is, but its such a great monitor that Im leaving it with 4 stars. Maybe someone on here has a fix for this issue if others know about it.

> 3 dayI was reading a review and saw someone else experience the exact same issue I have. Sometimes the display will go blank and show nothing. This could happen for days and then eventually work fine again. If I looked at a second monitor when the issue occurred, I could see windows recognizing the device when its on and hiding the device when its off, so it seems like there is a signal being sent. The monitor was just not displaying it. The monitor is relatively cheap compare to other high refresh rate monitors(At the time I bought it in 2017). I had this issue occur to me multiple times and I even sent it to Acer twice to get repaired. Shipping I had to cover each time. Both times, the monitor got sent back to me saying they could not reproduce the issue and no repairs were done on it. I narrowed down the issue to the monitor. Some testing I did was use different GPUs, use a different display port and use a different cable. All the while I had a second monitor that did not have any issues at all. One solution was to use the HDMI port but that was only limited to 120Hz, not the 144Hz advertised and the reason why I chose this. I had some issues with FreeSync as well, causing the entire display(more like the backlight) to look like its flickering and it was very distracting. I wound up buying a new monitor and have not had any issues with that since. Since the warranty has expired, Im attempting to use the benefit on my Amazon Prime card of extending the warranty an extra year for certain products. I reached out to Acer to get a repair estimate, their standard fee for out of warranty repairs is $179. Youd be better off just buying the monitor again after factoring shipping.

> 3 dayThese monitors are really very nice for $199. I bought 2 to set up on either side of my (also Acer) Predator 144Hz 35in monitor. I set them both up vertically to multitask and do home network monitoring. The fact that these cant rotate either direction sort of bothers me, as Id love to do some more in depth cable managing. Finding a good angle on the right monitor is a bit tough, but is doable. Colors are super washed when first set up, 10 minutes of tinkering made a world of difference. All in all, for $200 a pop, these are a great deal. I cant speak for longevity, but they feel and look pretty premium. The stands they come with are superb and adjustable to almost the max. I just wish they could tilt either way, and not just to the left.

> 3 dayThis monitor was a great work from home workhorse for me for just over a year. It died yesterday, and as I picked it up to move off my desk, found a puddle of some sort of oil where the base had been sitting. Concerned now for possible toxicity that may have seeped into my not-very-cheap desk! Here’s hoping the bleach I have on hand did a good job. But who knows how long I’ve been working around whatever that goo was. Yikes. So this was a great monitor… until it wasn’t.

Greater than one weekTL;DR -> Great monitor but provided cable apparently died and was no longer delivering signal to the monitor. This resulted in a scare that the monitor had failed. Buying a new cable fixed the issue. This g-sync compatible monitor is excellent for its price and thus very valuable as most other g-sync monitors are at least another $100 more expensive. Out of the box, the picture looks a little brown (at least mine did), almost like the reading view setting on most smartphones. However, with a setting-tinkering, you can get it to look however you like. UNEXPECTED FLAW: This is something that i noticed some other reviewers talk about but though to myself: Surely it wont happen to me, right?. Well it happened.. I received the monitor and hooked it up and started using it with no problems, but fast-forward not even A WEEK later and the monitor goes dark and refuses to show what output through the display port input setting. This was incredibly frustrating, not only for the short time it took to start acting up, but for the fact that without an input from display port, you cannot use the 144hz/g-sync capability... which is likely the reason one would buy this monitor. I tried turning off and on a few times, and even tried changing display ports on my video card but neither of these worked. At this point, i remembered reading a review where the reviewer had the same problem but fixed it by ordering and using a new display cable. Well, however silly that might sound, using a newly-ordered (and 144hz supporting display cable) did the job and i was suddenly able to use my monitor again at 144hz with g sync. The only conclusion i can come to is simply that the provided cable is incredibly cheap and cant handle a high, consistent load during use. So, great monitor, horrible provided cable. If you decide to purchase the monitor, Id recommend purchasing your own display cable.

> 3 daySorry for the messy photo, but my cables were all organized until Acer support wanted me to try different cables to try and fix this white screen. Just bought this product 8/6/2019, and Im writing this as of 8/11/2019. I was only able to use it for 5 days and when I got home, excitedly turned on the computer, started playing my game, and suddenly, just a blank....white.....screen. Called Amazon Tech Support, and looks like they knew right away the issue, dead LCD. They recommended to either contact Acer Warranty for a replacement, or just do a return. I attempted to file a warranty claim with Acer using their website. I was able to fill in all the details, hit the last checkbox, and when I hit NEXT, it doesnt let me through. Maybe its because Im using Safari, so I tried Firefox, still the same thing. But hey, maybe their website is not optimized for Mac, lets try my Windows laptop. Still the same thing. Now Im pissed. Lets try calling their 24/7 Tech Support, which made me do the steps which I already told from the start that I already did prior to calling, but okay, I guess you wanna make sure. Here comes the fun part, I will be shipping the monitor to Texas, and any damage incurred during shipping will void the freakin warranty. GREAT! WHAT COULD GO WRONG DURING SHIPPING RIGHT? Oh, and dont forget, it takes 7-10 business days for them to check it out, and thats starting from when they receive the monitor. Good thing I still have the box because for sure, its way faster to return this piece of crap to Amazon and order a non-ACER one and it will take me less than a week to receive it. RANT OVER, NOW HERE COMES THE REVIEW FOR THE 5 DAYS I WAS ABLE TO ENJOY IT. Pros: - Jumping from 60Hz to 144Hz is something else. Once you go 144Hz, you cant go back to 60Hz. Everything is buttery smooth on my games in Ultra. I never knew watching yourself hover your mouse on the screen would be satisfying. - Comes with a Display Port cable, so you dont have to buy one. - The swivel, tilt, height adjustable mount is interesting. Very easy to work with. Youll have to see for yourself to know what I mean. - Box is really solid. I feel like if I kick it with the monitor inside, it wont break. Im pretty sure our folks on the Amazon warehouse already threw this thing multiple times but it still survived without any major defects on the box. Cons: - Very unfriendly UI on the settings of the monitor. Its a chore to actually adjust stuff, and the settings that you get are hard to navigate at. - Its a TN screen, so if youre coming from an IPS display, its not a pretty sight. Some of the stuff on the screen actually is blurred if its text, but with any graphic programs, really works well. - I didnt notice any response delay difference between my 60Hz Dell IPS monitor vs this monitor. Both of them seem to have barely noticeable response times, but maybe its because I only play MMOs and not shooters. - Broke down on me on the 6th day. White screen of death. Im glad that those who got working ones are enjoying their monitors. Sadly for me, thats not the case.
