The Acer is perfect for my home use. I am not a gamer. I use it for internet access, basic letters and excel. The lower price point made this the perfect laptop for me.

It started out good but a couple months in it started over heating and reseting whenever I was doing anything and charging at the same time.

This might be an ok system if your only doing small things. It over heats with in a few minutes of running any high end graphix games. War Thunder, Sims 4, RollerCoaster Planet. Just not good for games..

Im in love with this 14 Acer Swift 3. It weights about 2.5 pounds which is awesome. It doesnt have touch screen but thats not a biggy for me. I just love the way it glides. With 8gb and 512gb hard drive; theres a lot of power behind this little laptop. I cant mention anything about gaming, except; that my step-grand daughter says its not bad for gaming. The sound, the fast login, and the UI make this an awesome product. Plus the keyboard backlighting makes it look even better. I like it a lot better than my Dell Inspiron 15.6 N5010. I LOVE THE WAY IT MOVES. I honestly recommend this product. Im sure you would love it too. If you decide to get it; make sure you get the 8gb plus 512gb hard drive. I paid $720 with tax. If you can get it cheaper; you got yourself a huge deal. Good luck. I saw some negative reviews. Im so glad I didnt pay any mind.

Two things have so far been drawbacks. One, the back-lit keyboard keys lack color contrast between the white lettering and silver paint color of the keys. When used in a dark room the letting is washed out making the lighting only marginally useful. Two, the on/off key is placed in the far upper right corner of the keyboard which is non standard. In the past 10 years Ive had 8 or so computers and this is the first keyboard with this particular configuration. The off key gets hit all too often by mistake. Ive had to restart the computer three dozen times in the first few months of using the computer. Its a nuisance and time waster.

It has been many years since I have used a computer at this price point and Im incredibly impressed with what Acer is offering here for just $900.
