> 24 hourSeveral years ago, I purchased the basic Merkur safety razor and entered a new world of shaving joy. Blades were cheap, I didnt cut myself, and no ingrown hairs. I would buy whatever blades Walmart had (usually Wilkinson Swords) because they were cheap and available. Walmart stopped selling them, so I was on the hunt for a new blade. I decided to try these by Astra and they are excellent. They offer an even smoother shave than I had before and so far have been consistently of high quality. Factor in the cost and this is a best buy.

> 24 hourFOR THE PRICE ONE CANNOT BEAT THESE BLADES. IAM GETTING EXCELLENT SHAVINGS FROM MY FIRST BLAD (I HAVE USE IT SIX TIME AND STILL GIVE ME A GOOD SHAVE. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT IS GOING TO TAKE ME TWOOYEARS TO GO THROUGH THE 100 BLADES I BOUGHT.

> 24 hourI have been using DE blades for several years in a variety of handles ranging from vintage Gillette to modern Merkur slants. I have bought several sample packs of various blades and used dozens of various brands. The Astra Platinum gives a consistently close, smooth shave with no tugging, or weepers. They are a fraction of the cost of many other brands and unlike some brands the quality remains the same. I will keep looking for a better blade, but I doubt I will ever find one.

> 24 hourWhy in the world would anyone want to spend $40 on 5 Gilette Mach 398 blades? If you shave your face, this method with these blades are the only way to go. its a closer shave and better than going through so many expensive blades. Do yourself a favor and just buy a good safety razor and get these blades. you wont be sorry.

> 24 hourThe package I received were made in Russia and handled my manly stubble and wifes needs smoothly and with ease. If well rinsed and the edge is carefully dried off I get about 4 good shaves from one blade. With such a great price whats there not to like?

> 24 hourThe combination of affordability and performance are why I have rated these 5 stars. I use these on my head and face with no problems and because they are so inexpensive, I am able to use a fresh blade for every shave and still pay WAY less than what I was used to with the Gillette fusion cartridges (which I would have to suffer through at the end of the week as the blades will dull and tug). Heres the breakdown. Gillette Fusion Pro Glide 12 pk: $37 ($3.08 a blade). 5 face shaves and 3 head shaves in one week then throw away cartridge (otherwise head and face just started to get jacked up). 52 weeks a year x $3.08= $160 in cartridges Astra SP 100 pk $9 ($.09 a blade). 8 Shaves a week = $.72 x 52 weeks a year = $37.44 in DE blades . Yes please- I think Ill buy some more. They arent quite as sharp as my Feather blades but they are more forgiving. Im able to shave my face everyday without issue. With the Feathers, I start to get pretty sensitive as the week progresses with everyday shaving. I will still use the feathers if I need a super tight shave. Bottom line, if you go through as many blades as I do, Astra SP blades are the way to go. If youve never heard of DE shaving, do some research. I think youll find that it just makes sense.

> 24 hourI switched to a safety razor about 5 years ago and all I have ever used are Merkur blades (to match the razor.) I saw the reviews on these and figured Id give them a shot. They dont look as sturdy or fancy as the Merkur blades, but I have found them to be just as sharp and shave just as smoothly. And at seven cents a blade, I wont feel bad throwing one out after one shave if I feel its not as smooth.

> 24 hourThese are awesome. Comparing to merkur blades these were softer on the skin and cut just as good.

> 24 hourI’ve tried a couple blades and this one just doesn’t seem to stay sharp as long as my other blades. The first and second shave are good. I appreciate the eco friendly packaging though!
