21-11-2024I started shaving with double-edged safety razors about 6 months ago. When I started with the razors, I bought a sample pack. When they were used up, I went to buy blades that I felt were best for my face. The Astra blades were one of the better ones that fit my face and hair then the other ones. They are good quality stainless steal that are very sharp. However, they are a little too aggressive for me and can at times give me a rough shave with some nicks here and there. Other then that, they are great blades and worth a try.

> 3 daythese are cheap, sharp, and they maintain a decent edge. The one issue I have is that theres a bit of wax in the middle of the blade that holds the paper sleeve in place, and its hard to get this off of the blade.

Greater than one weekThis is my first review almost in 20+ years on Amazon. Recently I moved to using a safety razor as I had started to develop serious razor burns and bumps using multi blade razors. The stock blades that came with tye razor as well as the blades I got from the local pharmacy were an improvement on my shave but felt lacking. The price point on these blades was low enough to give it a shot and man was I surprised. I had the most satisfying shave of my life. The blades are sharp but also feel super good on the skin. One use and I’m a believer.

> 3 daySo, Ive been doing the DE shaving for a few months now and have got it down. I use a homemade oil, a shaving soap from the local store, and a good quality handle and badger brush. My handle came with these blades and I also bought a 35-blade sample pack that included Bluebird, Gillette, Feather, and a few others. I have course, thick facial hair and gave each blade type a fair shot (to include this one when I first got my setup). When I started, I was not a fan of this blade at all but quickly realized it was my technique and all I needed was some practice. I ended up using all 35 blades (5 of each type at a time) and kept detailed notes about them as I went a long. The last 5 blades were some of these. I was a little hesitant but decided to give them another shot and boy was I glad that I did. I think these blades did as good as the rest of the higher priced blades and actually better than most of them. I decided on this 100 pack which will get me 200 shaves.

> 3 daySo, I am just finishing up my 100 pack that was ordered a while back. The blades have worked fine for me. Not the absolute sharpest, but good value. So will I order them again? (Political opinions follow) if you are not aware - Astra is actually owned by Gillete, which put out an extremely woke advertisement back in 2019 - which was insulting. I vowed not to buy their products again. So I am going to try Feather brand, which supposedly are the sharpest - and made in Japan, as best as I can tell, by a Japanese company. I wanted to go sharper for my course beard, anyway. For an accurate review, I decided not to flame the Astra company - so, the blades are fine. I am at the point in life where my money will speak for me through my buying habits. God bless all you wet shavers!

> 3 dayIndividually wrapped in loose oil paper envelopes, these inexpensive blades last longer than I expected them to. I have pretty coarse stubble and a single blade will often last a week.

> 3 dayI have been using this brand of razor blades since I was a teen (currently late 20s) and I swear by them. I have switched my best friend and husband over to the same brand as well, as they’re truly the best blade and an unbeatable price. They take ages to go dull, so a pack lasts a year or even two. My skin is super sensitive and I’m prone to razor bumps, but these are gentle on my skin— though you’ll definitely get some cuts if you’re not careful. Highly recommend.

Greater than one weekSharp blades. I get three to four shaves per blade. The number of shaves depends on how close a shave I want and how much blood letting I am willing to indulge.

> 3 dayI must say I was a little skeptical although all the reviews for this product were nothing short of fantastic. I recently purchased a Merkur safety razor and although I have been very pleased with the Merkur premium razors that came with my purchase (and from what I understand are considered great blades)they still gave me some irritation and snagging while shaving. I was considering just ordering the Feathers but decided to give these a try first. Exceptional! The Astra blades come out to about 10 cents a blade and I must say my shave is probably twice as smooth and enjoyable. What a pleasant surprise. I dont think, at least for my face, it could get much better. I hope they last at least two or three shaves but I have yet to test them on longevity. But for so cheap it doesnt really matter. I see what some have mentioned as the glue problem, and I ran into this on this first blade I opened and yes, it is a little annoying but it really didnt make that much of a difference to me really. Just be careful in trying to wipe the glue off as the blades are inherently sharp and its pretty easy to cut yourself (duh). Would definitely recommend.
