I was very skeptical. To be honest, there are no difference between these blades and dollar general blades. I was skeptical that the originals were sold off to a new company taking advantage of the reputation but these are pretty good. Maybe the reviews are from winter and people with poor technique? 4/5 stars because these razor blades are too big to fail :)

So there have been a number of interesting reviews of this blade of late. I got a batch of the older style with the printed logo. Astra apparently not that long ago changed their logo to be etched into one side. There are 2 reasons they would do this. 1st is to make counterfeiting them harder. 2nd is to save on ink. Think about it. If you can laser etch the label you can save all that ink which does add up. Onto the blade performance: the blade cuts like it should, which is to say a milder blade. Its a decent compromise between sharpness, smoothness and durability. The good: Blades last about 5 shaves, which is the point at which you want to change blades for sanitation anyways. Rarely a nick or weeper to be found. Considering one of my razors is rather aggressive, thats really good news. The bad: Got a Rockwell 6C w/ adjustment plates and it showed the shortcomings of the blade. At setting 1 (very mild) it almost didnt cut anything. Setting 2 was better, 3 required finess to get a good shave without irritation. The ugly: got a blade which was clearly mispunched and off center. This required attention by me once I realized the problem. One side was more exposed than the other when shaving. Thats never happened to me before. Im hoping its a fluke. No process is perfect and there will be some outside of the norm and Im hoping it was just a fluke. But there is the nagging question because the blades are made in St. Petersburg Russia. Is the plant going to keep producing things well along with all the other P&G/Gillette blades they make there? Will they keep or improve their coatings and metallurgy? Who should by these? People who like a decent value, dont expect miracles and understand that theres a reason for the difference in costs between blades. These are better for aggressive aka efficient razors exposing significant blade. I would definitely buy them over the Rockwell razor blades which are distinctly duller.

Liked the results of a shave with these more than Feather brand blades, which I used for years prior to these. My wallet likes them too since theyre about half the price of Feathers. Ill be sticking with Astra unless the quality radically changes for the worse.

I just switched to Astra from Shark blades and I definitely prefer Astra. The blades feel sturdier and sharper. The blades come in cardboard boxes with 5 in each, so the packaging is not as cool as the little plastic boxes that the Shark blades come in. However, the blades are still individually wrapped in wax paper and the cardboard probably makes for less waste.

Work perfectly for 4 or 5 shaves before needing to be replaced!!

Ive been wet shaving for a few years and always used Feather Hi-Stainless based on all of the great reviews. I picked these up because the Feathers were giving me fairly bad razor burn from both my Muhle R89 and Edwin Jagger razors. Now my daily drivers are the Jagger with Astra blades. To my surprise, the Astras gave me both a more comfortable shave and a closer shave. Add the Pre De Prevance No. 63 shave soap and youll be good to go.

I initially used Feather blades but switched to these after reading some reviews. Use them with an Edwin Jager razor and Parker brush. Great results every time. Blades last about one week.

This page describing this product is misleading. The page describes it as Made in Italy; however, the packaging on the product (when I received it) says Made in Russia. I tried to return it, but Amazon doesn’t allow you to. The blades themselves work fine.
