Astra Platinum Double Edge Safety Razor Blades ,100 Count (Pack of 1)

These are great blades, just sharp enough that you can get a handful of quality shaves out of them without cutting or burning your face. Not as sharp as the feathers, but I feel they last for more quality shaves. I would compare them to the med preps, but maybe slightly less sharp. They work great with my ikon slant.

If youre an experienced DE razor user these blades are great for a medium beard. They are so inexpensive compared to cartridge blades I afford myself the luxury of a new blade everyday. Some of the reviews make me wonder about what people do with double edged blades. If youre pressed for time and have 5 minutes to shave dont even consider a DE. Keep some cartridges for just that event. However, if you can spend 15-20 minutes relaxed, shaving and caring for your skin then nothing beats a double edged razor. You can shave with a Feather or a Dorco or any other blade. Just dont be in a hurry. And shave everywhere twice. Remarkable blade for the money.

I worked in the medical field, so believe me when I say these things are literally as sharp as scalpels. Russia doesnt screw around when it comes to facial hair removal, apparently. Also, the pack is so big I am now set up on razors for literally the rest of my life. $10 shave club my ass. Thing is theyre carbon steel so they will rust if you leave them wet, and the razor edge can rust off leaving it dull. I have a coffee cup full of rice I put the razor in after I rinse it to keep it sharp.

Love these blades sharp enough to make clean shave. Though they glide easily over the skin and makes even a quick shave a breeze. Myself and a buddy of mine (who recommended them to me) both use these he has sensitive skin and has no issues. Hes military and shaves daily, i use them every other day. Personally i just use a new blade every shave for the price why not! He on the other hand has had no issues with using them for 2-3 days. Im not sure of longevity due to i am switching them out daily. He on the other hand has not explained if its due to the life of the blade or personal choice.

The best blade to use if you shave your head and still have a full head of hair. I have very thick wiry hair and it glides right through with no dragging or snagging. I have also tried feathers for this and they skipped all over and snagged and required multiple passes in the same direction to make your scalp smooth and leave nasty razor burn. Just goes to show the importance of edge geometry. I usually use the Astra once per side on my head and performs consistently throughout the shave. This combined with headslick makes for the best head shave period

Ive tried multiple blades before(black pack feather blades, blue bird, bic chrome platinum) and I prefer Astra over the rest. Astra is sharp enough to get a close shave where I dont get a razor burn. I get two shaves per blade and dont feel bad about throwing the blades away either. This is a very economical deal for your shaving habits.

These blades stay sharp. I keep my razor submerged in a jar full of alcohol to keep it sterile. I know a man who lost part of his face and about died from nicking himself with a razor that had sat in his med cabinet. Plus being submerged doesnt let the edge rust between shaves.

This is my “go to” blade. I don’t bother with any of the others anymore. Can’t beat the price either.

These are much sharper than the Derby blades I had been using previously. I havent tried Feather yet, so I cant speak as to how these compare to those. One thing that I did notice is that these blades seem to lose their edge fairly quickly. After about 3 shaves, I need a new blade with these, while I could usually get 5-6 shaves out of Derby or Wilkinson blades.
