I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. Blood Lust by Alexandra Ivy is book three in the The Sentinels series. This is the story of Bas and Myst. Bas met Myst and was quickly attracted to her and her to him. So much so they created a child on their first meeting pretty much. Myst disappeared but came back to bring a baby she had from their encounter. Bas thought after leaving the baby..Myst was just a selfish women. But a few years later she turns up to visit her daughter. Bas finds out then that she has been communicating with their daughter and is upset about it. But Bas finds that Myst didnt want to leave her child...that she didnt have a choice. A group of people are hunting her down and Myst has to stay on the run to keep them from finding her. This was a really hot, sexy, alpha male, drama type romance....loved it.

Blood Lust by Alexandra Ivy is the 3rd novel in the Sentinel series. This book takes place shortly after the previous book, Blood Assassin, ended and features Bas, the father who, we discovered in Blood Assassin, would stop at nothing to get his daughter Molly back, and Molly’s mysterious and allusive mother Myst. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a book with Bas as the hero. I didn’t agree with all of his methods in the previous book but I understood his reasoning. I have to say that while I didn’t really like him in Blood Assassin, I quite liked him in this book. He was no long the semi bad guy but a fully flushed character with substance and emotions. I also really liked Myst and found her story to be both interesting and heartbreaking. Blood Lust is a great addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is entertaining, fast paced, sexy and moving. Bas and Myst suited each other perfectly and I loved seeing them become the couple they were always meant to be. Blood Lust is about Myst’s search for a weapon, one that could be used against the high bloods. Hampering her search is the Brotherhood’s relentless pursuit of her. But Bas isn’t about to let Myst out of his sight again and joins her as they work together to find the weapon and elude the Brotherhood. My only disappointment in Blood Lust was that the mystery seemed rather obvious. But it didn’t detract from the overall story and I look forward to the next book in the series. I would recommend Blood Lust to fans of the Sentinel series. *ARC (Advanced Review Copy) received from the publisher, Kensington Books, via NetGalley.

I always look forward to Ms. Ivys books because she is a master at weaving details, hidden clues, mystery and smoking hot romance into a plot line that reels a reader in completely and theres always something new and interesting in each of them. BLOOD LUST certainly has all that - great storytelling, hot romance and lots of heart. Sentinel assassin, Bas has been declared a wanted man by Valhalla but hes going to need the help of the powers that be to take on their common enemy, the Brotherhood and ensure the safety of his daughter and her mother, the woman who has consumed him for the last five years. Myst only hoped to get job when she came to Bas but she got more than she planned for and to save her daughters life, she brought her to her father and disappeared. Haunted all her life by the Brotherhood to be used as a tool for world dominion, Myst has been searching for a way out and with no solution in sight, she has decided on a very permanent solution, but first she has to say her goodbyes to her loved ones. But Bas is not letting her go without a fight, even if it means a temporary alliance with his enemies. I certainly wasnt a fan of Bas from the previous book but he won me over finally and made me see him as more than just a soulless mercenary. He still doesnt play by the rules, is still out for number one, but his devotion to his daughter is undeniable. His feelings for Myst have made her his second weakness but hell fight to the death to protect both of them. What Myst lacks physically she makes up for with her inner strength and determination and even Bas has his work cut out for him trying to keep her in line. BLOOD LUST certainly is not as action-packed as the previous installments in the series but it more than makes up for that with the heartwarming feelings induced by the interactions between Bas, Myst and the enchanting Molly. I loved untangling the threads of the mystery and have to give Ms. Ivy kudos for making that a unique and unexpected twist to the whole story. In addition, we are teased endlessly with the air-sucking chemistry between the Mave and her Tagos and I cant wait for their story. As usual, while each book stands alone Ill recommend reading the series in order so as to keep track of the ongoing story arc. With all the deliciousness the series has to offer, why not? ARC was generously provided by the publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I was really intrigued by Bas’s character by the end of the last book and left with several questions about him and Myst so I pretty excited to find out more about them in this book and it didn’t disappoint. Bas is an sentinel outlaw who had done quite well for himself by using dubious methods. He kidnaps Serra (the heroine of Blood Assassin) in the last book because his daughter, Molly had been kidnapped by his enemies. Bas would do anything for his daughter whom he loves very much. At the end of the last book we find out that Molly can talk to her mother. Bas of course believes that his daughter just misses her mother and isn’t actually talking to her. Myst is Molly’s mother and has been on the run it seems her entire life. She has been seeing visions of destruction of the sentinels ever since she was a child. Her parents sold her to the brotherhood, the enemies of the sentinels when they found out she was a sentinel highborn with a weapon that could destroy the sentinels. She had a very difficult childhood and eventually escapes from the brotherhood and has been on the run ever since. Myst has been telepathically talking to her daughter for quite some time now and when she finds out that Molly was kidnapped and returned she decides to just meet her daughter once. Bas is highly suspicious of Myst and angry at her for leaving their daughter and now returning just to leave again. He doesn’t want Molly to get hurt and himself because as much as he’d like to deny it he is still attracted to Myst and the chemistry/connection they had when they first met is still there. Myst on the other hand however much would like to stay with her daughter and Bas can’t because the brotherhood is still searching for and she doesn’t want them to get hurt. Myst and Bas were great together and when they finally decided to trust each other they had some good relationship development. Though their chemistry was palpable from the start. The book had some battles and twists especially with the leader of brotherhood and what followed made it a interesting read that kept my attention throughout. Quibbles: The weapon bit was a bit predicable and I felt like everyone knew what it was going to be when the keeper talked about it but alas it took them almost at the end of the book to figure out. And maybe we should have gotten some flashbacks or something of Myst and Bas when they first met because they were kind of already in love at the start of this book. Apart from that it was a great addition to the series, made for a good fantasy read with well paced plot, action and some intrigues and now I reallllly want Wolfe and Lana’s story.

As I was going thru my Kindle app and my TBR list, I wondered if I had read this book. I am a huge Alexandra Ivy fan and just could not fathom that I missed this one. After starting the book this weekend I realized that I had indeed read it and had not post the review as I had not read book 2, Blood Assassin and I have an attack if I dont read them in order. So to sum up I did not read book 2 but read book 3 and heres my review. Go figure. Lol... This is the story of Bas and Myst and as you all probably know by now, they had a child named Molly after a one night stand. Myst drops off Molly to Bas, disappears and reappears after 5 years. Right after Molly is returned from being kidnapped? Hmmmm suspicious? Maybe. Myst explains her disappearance and Bas, strong, totally lovable and will do anything to keep Myst here with him now and not lose her, decides that they will investigate the outcome of her fate and this power that spells Armageddon. In the end we are able to see the distrust that Bas had for Myst fall away and the love that they have for each other and Molly bloom. Another great job by the famous Ms. Ivy. Loved it so much! I cant believe I forgot to post this review...Lol 4.5 stars!!!!

The Sentinel Series has been one of my favorite by Alexandra Ivy but in Blood Lust I just had trouble warming up to Bas and Myst. That really has never happened in the past with characters from Ms. Ivy’s creation so I guess it was time. The writing is as solid as ever filled with plenty of different places and people. In some ways it is a pure fantasy delight. My only reason for not loving it is the two main characters. Myst never confined in Bas but now she does several years after Molly’s birth. Of course, Bas is still attracted to her and he loves his daughter so he helps her mother. Basically they do what they do for selfish reasons. These are characters who have different moral compasses from what I like in my heroes. The villains in this story are much worse so I was glad of the ending. Liked but didn’t love as I have the previous books. Copy provided by the publisher through Net Galley for an honest review.

The Sentinels are monk-trained warriors who maintain order amongst the High Bloods, that is: witches, healers, necromancers, psychics, and telepaths. Bas Cavrilo is a renegade; he has broken ties with the official organisation to sell his talents to the highest bidder, within reason. Five years before, Cal had had a fateful encounter with the lovely Myst, who left him the daughter she had following that one time. Bas loves his daughter, Molly, with all his heart. Molly had been kidnapped the year before, and when Myst appears at Bas’ door, even though he never forgave Myst, he will do everything in his power to keep them safe, however his heart might be at stake… BLOOD LUST is the third book in Alexandra Ivy’s Sentinels series, and it can easily be read as a standalone, because Ms. Ivy explains everything subtly, concisely, and very clearly so that no one will be lost, and all will be thoroughly entertained. Ms. Ivy is an exceptional worldbuilder and storyteller, and BLOOD LUST is a perfect example of her considerable talents and why she is so successful at what she does. Bas and Myst’s budding relationship is built mostly on instalust, but handled so cleverly that I believed every single minute of it, besides their obvious love for their daughter. Bas is a terrific character: as macho as he is, he has a tender heart and is never pushy. Myst appears a fragile little flower, but she is at least as strong as Bas, and I loved how the dynamics between the two shifted as their relationship bloomed. Every character is exceptionally well fleshed out, and one of the most notable features of BLOOD LUST is the bevy of powerful female characters. I also very much enjoyed watching the shenanigans of a deliciously wicked – and very believable - villain. BLOOD LUST is positively riveting, the plot iron-clad; it’s a fast paced book, and well-balanced all around; everything blends fluidly. Best of all, the more the story progresses, the more gripping it becomes, and there was a fabulous plot twist. Of course everything made even better by Alexandra Ivy’s crisp and eloquent prose. Don’t hesitate for a moment: BLOOD LUST is worth every second of your time! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
