NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 Bas!!! Finally!!! I was so happy to get a review copy of Blood Lust. I have been wanting to read Bas’ story for a while now. He is such a good daddy to Molly! And how can you not love a badass assassin who is like putty with his little girl. You can’t!! I was also happy to learn more about how Bas met Molly’s mom and what happened between them. I really enjoyed this story. The tension between Bas & Myst is fun. They are so good together. And Molly... oh sweet little Molly!!! I just want to hug her. She is one tough little girl. I will say that you will want to start this series from the beginning so that you can get a better understand of Bas and he past. I can’t wait to see what is next for us in this series. Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley & Kensington Books, Zebra in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.

This book is book 3 of the Sentinels series. This book is a continuation of the battle of good and evil with human with a little something extra. Bas our leading man is an Assassin with a daughter that is kidnapped. Not only due we have a kidnapping but a hot romance between Bas and Myst his daughter mother. Myst has secrets but maybe its time to come clean and claim her family. Another exciting romance from this author and a great addition in this series . Lisa

Rating: 3.5 to 4 stars After book 2, I was really looking forward to reading more about Bas, our villain sort of from book 2, or at least not on the good side of Valhalla. His 4yo daughter was being held hostage, in book 2. In book 2, he just has gotten her back when the mysterious baby mama, Myst, pops back into their life. She has kept in psychic contact with her daughter all along, but Bas only knows she left and believes her to be a selfish person who didnt want their child. This doesnt actually turn out to be the case. Myst left because she believes her future puts high-bloods at risk via a prophecy. She gave her daughter to Bas to protect her. This prophecy is coming closer fast, and Myst and Bas join up to see if they change the future essentially. With that kind of plot, I expected to be on the edge of my seat but just wasnt. In fact, some of just dragged on and on to me, and I was completely bored. Not even tensions Wolfe and our lovely Mave of Valhalla could pull me out of that boredom. Myst and Bas? They were cute, but I kind of expected more from him after book 2. So, my final verdict is 3.5 to 4 stars. The story arc moves forward, they work as a couple, but it was a bit bland. I still look forward to whoever is next and really enjoy the series. My thanks to the publisher via Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book to read and give an honest review.

Ive never read anything by this author before this book, so I wasnt up to date with the previous novels in the Sentinels series. Nonetheless, the overall background story is pretty easy to grasp and follow. There is a lot of chemistry between Myst and Bad as well as an established previous history together that produced their child. I like the previous history aspect - it made the swooning &, obsessing over each other easier to believe. There are a lot of things going here between the base line romance, the High Blood political machinations and the Brotherhood plotting. The story moves quickly and the characters jave a variety of quite interesting magical abilities.

Bas is a Sentinel who turned mercenary. He has been raising his little girl by himself since her mother dropped her off as a baby. Myst is clairvoyant and a group called Blood Brothers want her. They think she will make a device that will destroy the high bloods. She returns to see her daughter and Bas wants her to leave until he finds out the real reason she left their child. Bas and Myst go to a doppelganger to see if he can tell them the weapon that she will make. Now they have the Blood Brothers after them and theyll do anything to get their hands on her. Exciting. Sexy. A little slow to start but it speeds up toward the end. Leaves you on the edge of your seat. I debated whether to put 3.5 stars or 4. It is really in between them two. What really bugs me is Myst is supposed to have silver hair with a little curl. The girl on the cover has red hair. That drives me crazy.

Even though this is part of a series it works fine as a stand-alone. Bas and Myst are great character but their daughter Molly steals the show. The plot is fast and furious and comes together in a very believable way. The tension between Bas and Myst ramps up the story line and kept me reading. Great series. After reading Blood Lust I have added the series to my wish list.

My oh my havent we come full circle! The villain (of sorts) Bas of Blood Assassin is now the hero in Blood Lust. Im calling him the not quite bad because as much as he was wrong for his previous actions, it was justifiable, sort of like justifiable homicide. *Snorts* Okay he was a previous bad boy but I still found him to be delish. Now he gets his own story...WooHoo! Hes still not quite a pristine member of society here but at least we get to find out why, and it turns out, hes actually a sweetheart. He takes care of his people and he adores his daughter. Myst is the mother of his daughter, Molly, and the one who got away. She has quite the sad story and is on the run from the Brotherhood. Id love to tell you what her story is but her secrets slowly unfold throughout the book. Let’s just say, she didn’t exactly leave Molly behind because she wanted to. Probably my favorite part about this whole series is the ping-ponging between Wolfe and the Mave. There is so much sexual tension, so much ‘no-no-no’ between these two that when they finally cave and give in to what they want, its going to be explosive. Now they arent the only secondaries I find myself enjoying. Kaede, Bas right-hand man. Whatta man, whatta man, whatta fine mysterious man! Weve gotten a peek at his story and Im guessing there is a bit more to him. Im reeeeeally hoping all my favorite secondaries get their own stories and HEA. (Hint-hint, Ms. Ivy!) Now I will admit, I put two and two together and figured it out fairly quickly what was going to happen. Really, I cant be the only one who figures once they hear Mysts story and that prophesy! And despite having guessed right, I still enjoyed how it all played out. Lots of excitement, mystery and some yummy sex keep everything rolling at a fairly quick pace. Not as much physical action this time around and the villains seem a bit dumber than I previously thought them to be. Nevertheless, I still thoroughly enjoyed Bas and Mysts story. Theirs has been my favorite of the series. Im all caught up to the Sentinels series and have enjoyed each and every book. The characters are great, the whole world of High-Bloods and Sentinels is riveting and the mysterious Brotherhood, hmmm, yes even they add to the story. It all makes for an exciting read that any paranormal fanatic can easily lose themselves in. I cant wait to see what happens next! I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated. Stars - 4.5, Flames - 3
