Cant stop till the end ! Can wait to read the next one.... Hopefully with Lana and Wolfe and another happy ending!

Both books are great

This is the frist Sentinels Series book Ive read. I normally dont read Science Fiction, Paranormal or Futuristic books, but this one intrigued me. It is very well written, a stand alone story that can be fit into the puzzle of the series or read by itself. Alexandra Ivy offers a tightly woven plot and no loose ends. The main characters are well defined and the lesser ones are defined enough to make them interesting, no matter they are fleeting in their appearance in the story. When Bas and Myst--the main characters--create a child, she rushes away, never to be seen again. Until she shows up on his doorstep one day, wanting to see their daughter. The events that follow are fraught with action, tons of emotion and an on-the-edge-of-your-seat, page-turning involvement with this tale of intrigue, love, other-worldliness and fantasy. If you like stories with a magnificent alpha hero or two, a delicate heroine and children, you will want to read this story. I am going to read the rest of this series--in order. Great reading for a lazy afternoon.

I dont know why but it took me a while to warm up to the Sentinel stories but Im so pleased I persevered . We were introduced to Bas in the previous book Blood Assasin when he cunningly used the High Bloods to help him rescue his abducted daughter Molly from a murderous former employee. So how did someone like Bas , assasin and unrepentant outcast become such a loving father? Well five years ago a beautiful woman asked him for a job but instead of work Bas gave Myst a night both would never forget. Myst left with no word of how he could find her only to leave a baby nine months later in the inner sanctum that Bas had thought impregnable . Molly is the apple of Bass eye but Myst is the woman he cant forget and shes about to come crashing back into his life ! I found Bas to be an intruiging mixture of good and bad in the previous story so Im over the moon that the author not only revisited him but made his story such a sweet one . I know you might think that Bas is anything but sweet after all he doesnt play by the rules but his love for Molly is rock solid and undeniable. Molly is adorable, a scene stealer if there ever was one ! Then of course theres the elusive and secretive Myst. She claimed to be a clairvoyant when he first met her but the reality is Myst is a foreseer who had a vision so terrifying she has been on the run but reality is about to catch up with her although to say more would ruin this book for other readers . I do like the way the author keeps dangling other characters in front of her readers. Its so obvious that the Mave, Lana and her Tagos, Wolfe are going to combust at some point and I for one cant wait. Now that being said theres a rather cheeky Kaede who is also waiting in the wings so clearly thats at least two more books in this series but Im sure there are many more Sentinels out there with tales of their own. This book delivered a well thought out story thats perhaps not as action fuelled as some but the heart warming emotional journey was fabulous. Theres truly nasty villains, a romance that pulled me in ( Bas made me melt !) and such a unique twist as the truth about Mysts vision was revealed . If honest it felt quite short and I seemed to reach the end quite quickly but its my favourite book in this series so far and yes Ms Ivy proves yet again that she truly excels when it comes to paranormal romance. Great read from the Sentinels series!

I normally enjoy her books however this one was quite draggy & I felt the stereo typical testosterone violent male & weak damsel in distress female characters were boring. Hope the next ones better.

The story Bas is the de facto leader of a sect of High-Bloods that operate outside of Valhalla (the protected warded stronghold run by the Mave and the Tagos). Bas is a High-Blood witch Sentinel Assassin, fiercely protective of his family. Five years ago he had a one night encounter with an echanting clairvoyant, nine months later a baby was left in his room. Molly is just as enchanting and captivating as her mother. A now five year old Molly suddenly starts talking about her mother being on the way .... lo and behold Myst enters.... Myst is an extremely rare foreseer, she has been trying to outrun her prophecy all her life.. While the story lines are focused on the main focus, there is also a rebuilding of their relationship and original backgrounds. Thoughts Although this is a completely unique series, plots, characters & her books always seem familiar, in the best way possible. I love Bas energy and his relationship with Myst sweet. he is a caveman shes a bit timid, but their complex personalities explain their behaviors. this is the third in the series, I always welcome another look into this unique series.

Bas had a penthouse in a luxury Kansas City hotel when his highly profited business had been all messed up. He had been the leader of a renegade band of mercenary high bloods who defied the laws of Valhalla to sell their talents. Then a former employee kidnapped Bas’s precious daughter Molly and used her as leverage to try and gain control over a volatile high blood who could have caused the end of the world. Now Bas just wanted to find a place to safely raise Molly. Molly needed love and peace and stability. Molly had been a witch’s captive but she barely seemed to remember. Myst was Molly’s mom and had left her on Bas’s bed when she was an infant and left. Molly was the product of a one night stand but Bas didn’t want Molly to know that. Myst had been talking to Molly in her mind when she had been captured and since she was home. Then Myst showed up and got passed Bas’s security and had come to see Molly and keep her word to the child. Myst was a telepath and was psychically connected to Molly. Myst had spent the last four years in a Russian monastery. But once seeing Bas again she felt hot desire. Bas had been born with the magic of a witch and the strength of a Sentinel. Myst had went to Bas originally for a job saying she was clairvoyant but when got pregnant for she received a second talent- telepathy. Bas found he was still very attracted to Myst and wasn’t happy about it. The monks who had turned Bas into a perfect killer had taught bas emotions were enemies. Myst had been seeing visions of the Sentinels being destroyed since she was a child. Her parents had sold her to the Brotherhood- who were enemies of the Sentinels. The Brotherhood found out Myst could build a weapon that could destroy the Sentinels. Myst had a difficult childhood and eventually escaped the Brotherhood and had been on the run since. As much as Bas doesn’t want to admit it he and Myst still had hot chemistry was still there.But most of all Bas didn’t want Molly to be hurt by Myst. Bas found out Myst had not wanted to leave Molly but had to protect her. Now Bas was determined to keep Myst as well as Molly Safe. I really enjoyed this and the story had a good plot. Molly is so sweet and loving she really adds to this story and i adored her./ I want a Molly ! i loved how Myst would do and did anything for her daughter even give her up to her father so Molly could be safe including keeping her promise to her and showing at at Bas’s home to see Molly. I liked how protective Bas was and alpha in pretty much all he did. So yeah did love the characters. I liked the ins and outs of this story a lit also. If I could I would rate this a 4.5 or 4.7 but since I can’t a four will have to do. Bas was kinda a good bad guy. I recommend this book.

Its an exciting book, in a way. It tells an exciting story full of danger. The evil characters are very evil, for reasons that are not completely clear. The good characters are not really that good. The hero is an assassin. The heroine is an unwed mother who abandoned her baby. Thats reasonable because there was danger involved. But staying away didnt keep the child safe. The child experienced traumatizing events anyway. So Myst blew it as a mom. She is really very incompetent at motherhood, but at least she has a telepathic connection with her daughter, and she sent lots of reassurance, and isnt that enough? Then Myst shows up in person at her baby daddys apartment, and discovers there is still lust between them, and she shags him again. Heres where I started to hate these guys. They already have one kid with a seriously screwed up early childhood. That kind of damage cant be fixed with a telepathic hug. The tragedy was, among other things, the result of poor family planning. Its terrible what happened to the first child, and now these two are willing to do it again, without reliable birth control. They dont even spend two minutes thinking about it. Myst mentions her concern, and Bas convinces her to allow penetration anyway, and no condoms are produced, and the act proceeds due to mutual lust, with barely any thought to the consequences. How irresponsible can you get? What kind of selfish people act like that? Myst wrapped her legs around his pistoning hips, astonished to discover another massive orgasm was rapidly clenching her lower muscles... I stopped reading after that part. The story no longer seemed sexy to me, just trashy and sad.

This book is book 3 of the Sentinels series. This book is a continuation of the battle of good and evil with human with a little something extra. Bas our leading man is an Assassin with a daughter that is kidnapped. Not only due we have a kidnapping but a hot romance between Bas and Myst his daughter mother. Myst has secrets but maybe its time to come clean and claim her family. Another exciting romance from this author and a great addition in this series . Lisa
