> 3 dayIve never read anything by this author before this book, so I wasnt up to date with the previous novels in the Sentinels series. Nonetheless, the overall background story is pretty easy to grasp and follow. There is a lot of chemistry between Myst and Bad as well as an established previous history together that produced their child. I like the previous history aspect - it made the swooning &, obsessing over each other easier to believe. There are a lot of things going here between the base line romance, the High Blood political machinations and the Brotherhood plotting. The story moves quickly and the characters jave a variety of quite interesting magical abilities.

> 3 dayMyst is a foreseer, a clairvoyant with the ability to see the future. She is desperate to change the outcome of the chilling vision that has haunted her. Myst knows, in order to be a part of her young daughter’s life, she must trust Bas Cavrilo to help keep the Brotherhood from capturing her. Her fears become realty, however, when the mysterious weapon prophesied to bring harm on the high blood safe haven is not what Myst expected. Bas Cavrilo is an outcast high blood with the magic of a witch and the great strength of a Sentinel. For his five-year-old daughter’s safety, he decides to turn a new leaf and quit the shadowy society he created. Molly’s mother breezes back into their lives much to Bas’s annoyance. The silver-haired clairvoyant still enchants him. Bas discovers her altruistic reasons for abandoning their daughter five years ago and offers to help her steer clear of the Brotherhood until they can discover a way to thwart the vision from coming true. I am glad that Bas redeems himself. He starts out in BORN IN BLOOD, the first book in THE SENTINELS, being Valhalla and The Mave’s nemesis. The catalyst that prompts him to change his villainous ways, and the start of his redemption, are found in the second book, BLOOD ASSASSIN. He is not the usual villain type found in books. Bas’s aversion to following orders and using underhanded methods of getting desired results is the chief reason he opposes The Mave and Valhalla. I love that for his daughter’s sake, he is willing to cease his unlawful activities. Bas and Kaede’s comradery proves that even bad guys need friends that they can trust to protect their back. Myst is Bas’s perfect opposite. Life has dealt her a rough hand, yet Myst still thinks and worries about other’s welfare before her own. Circumstances beyond her control force Myst to sacrifice much. I admire the difficult choice she made in order to keep her daughter protected from the Brotherhood. I also like that she is able to see the good in Bas that he cannot see or believe exist. BLOOD LUST is book three is Alexandra Ivy’s riveting paranormal series, THE SENTINELS. I always look forward to upcoming new stories in this series. I like how the paranormal aspects in THE SENTINELS differ from what is commonly found in the genre. My love of Japanese animation helped me with pronouncing Kaede’s name. I do hope Alexandra Ivy considers him to be the next book’s hero. If Bas can be redeemed, so can Kaede. Lana, Valhalla’s Mave, and Wolfe’s tenuous relationship heats up in the story’s background. I suspect their book will either be the last book in THE SENTINEL series or close to the last. I eagerly anticipate the next book to see who will be the next hero and heroine. > 3 dayThis series just keeps getting better but at the same time while this one was a decent romance and mystery the big thing became apparent by the 50% mark but the plot carried along like nobody else could figure it out so that is why the 4 Star instead of 5. Bas and Myst were a very good couple but at the same time a bit too much insta-love feel to it took a little bit off the edge but make no mistake, they actually are crazy about each other. You got to love Bas while being probably one of the most feared men on the planet is not portrayed like Superman. Myst on the other hand could have used just a bit more something to make her less of a damsel in distress. They both did mesh together pretty well in several high stress situations but at the same time I am not a big fan of feral alpha males that can barely think straight without some threat of violence for just breathing in the same room as they are in. Bottom Line: I really did enjoy myself, it was a flight of fantasy where things tended to work out very nicely, the ending to the threat was unique and original. The idea that nobody could figure out what the weapon was kind of insulted my intelligence. 4 Stars and in spite of the minor shortcomings I would recommend this series.

> 3 dayI am so enjoying Ms. Ivys Sentinel series. *Blood Lust* does not disappoint. The interactions between Bas & Myst are complicated by their past, which includes producing a much-loved baby girl. This book kept me reading all day!

> 3 dayBook three to Alexandra Ivys Sentinel series Blood Lust follows Bas and his adorable daughter Molly (whom we meet in the last book). Waiting a year for each book is worth the wait, this is one of those series I keep on eye out for, I stalk Netgalley and Facebook for any information the newest book. Bas was just dark and mysterious enough in Blood Assassin to make my anticipation for this book pretty intense. It was worth it. Bas was raised an assassin, trained not like the others but more lethal than his sentinel counterparts. Bas had a difference of opinion with The Mage, Lana, a former friend and lover and was cast out of the high blood society. Bas is willing to go to any lengths to get what he wants and he succeeds in business but five years ago he met an irresistible young woman had one glorious night with her; he was willing to give her everything only to find her missing the next morning. Nine months later there is a baby girl on his doorstep. Bas assumed the worst about Myst and never expects to see her again. Unbeknownst to Bas during Mollys kidnapping she was so scared she reached out to her mother and found her since then they have been in telepathic contact. Myst knowing her daughter needs her returns but trouble follows Myst where ever she goes that is why she stayed gone for so long. Myst finally confides the truth to Bas of why she disappeared and why she left Molly behind. Bas does the only thing he can to keep Myst and Molly safe he calls in Lana and the Sentinels for help. Overall, this was a great read. I love Bas and Myst together they compliment each other well and Molly is such an adorable.

> 3 dayBlood Lust by Alexandra Ivy is the 3rd novel in the Sentinel series. This book takes place shortly after the previous book, Blood Assassin, ended and features Bas, the father who, we discovered in Blood Assassin, would stop at nothing to get his daughter Molly back, and Molly’s mysterious and allusive mother Myst. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a book with Bas as the hero. I didn’t agree with all of his methods in the previous book but I understood his reasoning. I have to say that while I didn’t really like him in Blood Assassin, I quite liked him in this book. He was no long the semi bad guy but a fully flushed character with substance and emotions. I also really liked Myst and found her story to be both interesting and heartbreaking. Blood Lust is a great addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is entertaining, fast paced, sexy and moving. Bas and Myst suited each other perfectly and I loved seeing them become the couple they were always meant to be. Blood Lust is about Myst’s search for a weapon, one that could be used against the high bloods. Hampering her search is the Brotherhood’s relentless pursuit of her. But Bas isn’t about to let Myst out of his sight again and joins her as they work together to find the weapon and elude the Brotherhood. My only disappointment in Blood Lust was that the mystery seemed rather obvious. But it didn’t detract from the overall story and I look forward to the next book in the series. I would recommend Blood Lust to fans of the Sentinel series. *ARC (Advanced Review Copy) received from the publisher, Kensington Books, via NetGalley.
