> 24 hourFollowed the directions closely and came very close to giving up and returning the printer. Made me feel like it was 1994 again--back before printers were easy to install. What the hell, brother?!?

> 24 hourThe printer works ok, nothing to say there ... however, BROTHER ... in their infinite wisdom, have patched a new software that makes the printer go into deep sleep, from which it will never come back on line, unless the device is powered off / on from the switch - every time you need to print. At this time there is no fix for it and Brother states that it is done by design.

> 24 hourI read tons of reviews on various Laser printers before selecting this one. The problem is, there weren’t any GREAT ones. So I selected what I thought was a decent one and moved forward. 2 months in and I’m not impressed. I use this printer VERY little, but when I do, I want my page quick and clean. This one is quick. But I’m not sure quick matters if it comes out looking like I rolled it in cookies and cream ice cream. The instructions for cleaning the drum say to print a guide page and take note of the regions that have discolorations. That’s the entire page for me. So, I’m going to work on getting it cleaned up, but for 2 moths of ownership and far less than 100 pages printed, this does not bode well. I’d suggest rolling the dice on another model.

> 24 hourThe printer leaves lots of grey smudges on the paper. At first I though it was just a problem with the starter toner cartridge that was sold with the printer. I bought another original Brother toner cartridge and the problem persists. This review is for Brother Monochrome Laser Printer, HL-L5200DW, Wireless Networking, Mobile Printing, Duplex Printing.

> 24 hourWhat a hassle! Usually this is happens with non original cartridges. I spent quite a bit of compressed air and time cleaning up this mess and then I changed it out for one I bought as a backup. When I finally got around to calling Brother Customer Service they told me it was one day past the 90 day warranty and I was out of luck! I asked for a manager and was put on hold for 20 minutes. I feel bad for Brother, they must really be hurting for cash… (e_e) EDIT: I called back a few times and found a different agent with a different attitude. They were willing to send me a replacement cartridge. Thats the proper response… you win three additional stars.
