    A labeling device, such as this, had been on my consideration list for some time. I am very happy I finally purchased this. It comes with two sizes of holders for labels, and they are easily switched out. I especially jumped for this device because it is compatible with Microsoft Outlook, and does so with simplicity. The included software for producing labels is designed similiar to other products I also use, e.g. Avery Dennison Label Pro. I have found many projects, for which this has come in handy, and because of the simpilicy in using it, this list will steady expand.

    I needed a label printer, primarily for shipping labels. This works - but it prints long, narrow labels. The USPS has a label format for that, but UPS does not (that I can find.) So if youre shipping eBay for example, you need to change your account settings printer preference. When printing labels, youll see an option (in Windows) to use the system dialogue -- pick that. Then in the options pick 7 shipping label and optimize for quality. Youll get a perfect shipping label. You can cut this in half - I asked the USPS. Put the address portion on the bottom, bar codes on top. You may have to use the QL-500 series as a compatible printer on eBay - thats what I did.

    I had expected this printer to integrate with Excel requiring minimal effort (Brother does provide an add-on application) but after a few hours installing, reinstalling, and searching online support I simply gave up and printed the labels one at a time from the basic application. Generic issue relating to communication with printer through MS Office, oddly there was no communication issue using the default basic software. The machine otherwise printed as advertised.

    We use this label printer to print bar codes. After two months on every label the printed bar code has an 1/8th inch gap right down the middle rendering the resulting labels unreadable. We tried the alcohol based cleaning labels but unfortunately it didnt solve the issue. If anyone has a suggestion it would be appreciated. As it stands our only option it to, literally, throw it out.

    Seriously, I freaking love this thing it is fast, quiet, reliable, the software is easy to use. Saves me sooooo much time being able to hook it up to a spreadsheet and bing bang boom Im printing 600 labels for every item in my shop. Even after one of my workers knocked the thing off the table and broke the top bit and jammed it up, its still chugging along. My only complaint is that the sample cartridges it comes with are NOT re-usable. Why arent all of the cartridges re-usable by default? So make sure you get a compatible cartridge holder thats re-usable so your replacement rolls can actually be used.
