> 3 dayI use this printer dozens of times a day in my school library and it has made labelling so much faster and better. I use the easy version of the software and I am perfectly happy with it. I tried out the full software and printing from my word processor but the light version of the software works so well, I only use this. I am still on my first roll of labels after six months -- making this extremely affordable. My only concern is that the labels will fade. This is not Brothers fault -- it is the nature of this type of printing. The Brother web site warns about this. Only time will tell if the books have to be re-labelled.

> 3 dayI was hesitant To purchase this printer at first due to the large number of reviews complaining about incompatibility with Macs, but it works perfectly well with my 2019 iMac. I use it to print shipping labels and postage through SendPro and haven’t had any issue with doing so.

Greater than one weekI ship pretty frequently via eBay labels and wanted a labeler. Couldnt even get it to print. Wouldnt recognize as a printer (only as a device) even after installing numerous drivers and things suggested online. Even on multiple PCs and on different OSs. Brother support wasnt of much help either (they told me about the same drivers I had already tried). Wasnt worth the hassle so I returned it.

Greater than one weekI think this label printer works wonderfully. The software for windows (computer) is easy to use. If you have a mac, youll have to download the program from brother. The interface is solid, and the software can auto detect the size of the labels you are using. The printer itself works fantastically. Auto cuts, and the print is very legible and eye pleasing. Overall I would recommend this label printer to anyone who prints a lot of labels.

> 3 dayI needed a label printer, primarily for shipping labels. This works - but it prints long, narrow labels. The USPS has a label format for that, but UPS does not (that I can find.) So if youre shipping eBay for example, you need to change your account settings printer preference. When printing labels, youll see an option (in Windows) to use the system dialogue -- pick that. Then in the options pick 7 shipping label and optimize for quality. Youll get a perfect shipping label. You can cut this in half - I asked the USPS. Put the address portion on the bottom, bar codes on top. You may have to use the QL-500 series as a compatible printer on eBay - thats what I did.

> 3 dayI needed a printer to print postage for items I sell on ebay. Im starting to sell enough to warrant it. The bad thing about this printer is that the documentation is lacking and the Brother website needs a web 2.0 makeover which adds to the problem. But, if you search the ebay forums, youtube, and the web in general you can get your answers to the problems that arise. It sucks that the most obvious reason people would buy this is not specifically addressed by the manufacturer. They should get with ebay and paypal (AMAZON TOO), not Pitney-Bowes, and make sure the process is as smooth as possible. Of course getting this to work with ebay shipping didnt work for me and I only got it to work with paypal shipping. I had to void a label because of it. I only plan on using paypal shipping with it anyway. Heres a few hints. First is for some ridiculous default setting the printer has. If your printer is seen as a type of drive and not a printer. Turn off the Editor-Lite light. Another is for paypal shipping, you have to set the printer as default in your Windows printer settings. Remember to set it back to your regular printer when done. Third, is to remember to set the correct label size in the printers properties. Oh and choose QL-550 as the printer for printer type of paypal shipping (see what I mean about getting with ebay). Once you spent time with it and get the nuances of more so the paypal shipping than the printer itself it will be a valuable asset to your ebaying.

> 3 dayThis is an excellent label and name badge maker. I organize large, corporate events and I used this particular product at a high-end event to print out names of walk-ins or guests that did not RSVP. We were able to format the label to print our logo and to easily populate the fields where the name of our guest and their company would go. Printing was quick, clean, and the sharp serrated edge made it easy to tear and pop inside a plastic badge. Our clients and new contacts were impressed with our level of care and detail in this respect. I am even considering buying one for my home-business and personal use. Final say: its excellent and well priced.
