This thing is a COLOSSAL piece of crap; be prepared to take it apart and put it back together at least once a week depending on how much you use it. The labels are constantly getting stuck inside the machine So eventually it will just stop printing and youll have to take it apart and pray that you dont break some of the cheaply made plastic that the device is made out of.

I have had the QL-700 for ten years if I am correct. But after upgrading my desktop for 8 yrs, the QL-700 wasnt working. So I had to upgrade this one.

Just bought this a few weeks ago. So far, very happy with it. Setup was easy, love the WIFI support. The labels I have printed have been great. Its VERY fast. Consumables look like will be easy to get in a variety of sizes.

I purchased the Brother Label Printer to replace a DYMO Label Printer. And I really love the features of this Brother Label Printer - the red really ads depth to my print jobs. However, this label is not nearly as easy to use as the DYMO, and its not as easy as other Brother label printers, either. I didnt think it would be as difficult as it is - its a label printer! How difficult can it be... but it just isnt that easy to use. If youre experienced you can probably get it to work... I can now, but I had to figure a lot of stuff out before I could just print...

I use this printer for personal use at home. It was pretty straight forward setting up the printer and connecting it to my Wi-fi network. I did have to initially connect it to my computer using the included USB cable, but once untethered the wireless features work flawlessly. The labels are easy to load and no paper is wasted when loaded correctly. The printer is very fast and the print quality is excellent. The automatic cutter is fast, however, the label is ejected out with some “force”, so placing the printer to close to the edge of a desk or stand will have you picking the labels up off the floor. I like the P-touch programs that can be downloaded from Brother and used with the printer. Although I haven’t used it yet, I do like the feature of being able to print Red and Black print on supported labels. I don’t like that I have to remove the labels when not using the printer and making sure to reinsert the protective sheet back in the printer when not in use. I wonder how many people have thrown the protective sheet away because they didn’t read the instruction sheets? Maybe Brother should print on the protective sheet not to discard or throw it away! Trying to determine which labels to use with the printer can be confusing since Brother has several label printers and the label rolls look alike. So far I have purchased a box of Brother address labels which work fine with the QL-810W. While this has nothing to do with the quality of the QL-810W printer, the iPrint&Label app for the iPad is pretty lame for printing address labels. I would give the printer five stars if I didn’t have to remove the labels and reinsert the protective sheet when not using the printer.

The wireless is good. Setup was a little weird but it worked out. The demo labels printing does not come out dark black. The software is kind of useless. I dont know why linking with your address book should be a cluster, or even having a separate address book within the app. Hmmmmm. Maybe its great for an eBay seller or some third party app that creates the label design and inserts the address. Maybe if I spend more time watching videos, but it gets to a point where the mount of work to create the label defeats the purpose of convenience .

Writing lots of labels by hand is no fun, so if thats something you need to do a lot a label printer is a good option. Most printers can print out a sheet of labels, which is fine, but if you dont need a whole sheet that can be a pain. On-demand labels are really nice. You can make the labels with the included software. Its decent software. One thing thats nice is you can easily pick a pre-made label for the size of the label paper you are using, change the details, and print. There are options to customize or create layouts from scratch. The printer prints fine, labels look like I expect. I had some issues with it taking a while to print. Id queue up several labels and it would sit for a good while then spit them all out in a gush. Other times I make just one and it prints right away. The auto-cut option is nice as well. If youre making many, it saves having to tear them apart from each other. If theres an error, there is a log that can tell you the problem (like I chose the wrong size for label media that was in the printer) but its not readily apparent where to find the error in the icons tray on the taskbar. Be better if the label software would show it somewhere obvious, or perhaps show a windows notification. The wireless setup was fairly easy. I did it by plugging it into my PC, and now print with only needing power, so I can plug it up anywhere. No room to keep it out, so I put it away when done. Provided is a pad in the cutting and printing area of the printer. It says to return it when not using the label maker. The pad does fit inside the label area without obstructing the labels, so youre less likely to lose it. Its a pretty good label printer. it has a lot of options, and you can even get a battery for it if you want. Its one you may want to consider while looking for such a printer.
