It certainly turns out adorable when you’re finished. Because it’s so incredibly time consuming, it’s not very easy. It took me about a solid week and a half of 8 hours a day to complete, with one or two days nearing 12 hours. The numbers on the pieces are illegible. I ran out of white embroidery floss. On some pieces, like the legs, the preprinted guideline shows and I couldn’t really think of any way to hide it except wait for time to rub it off. In the directions, it wants you to see the large piece onto the stocking itself and then bead or embroider or appliqué the smaller pieces to that. That’s impossible. For example, it wants you to sew the green tree to the stocking and then attach the pieces to the tree but only to sew through the felt of the tree, not the stocking. It’s nearly impossible to not go through all of the felt layers when attempting to attach a bead. So i attached all pieces to the tree and then sewed the tree to the stocking. I also did this for the top cuff and the purple skirt and the hairpiece. It’s much easier to do it this way so be sure to read ahead.

I would have given this piece a 5 rating except that I 1) ran out of some threads, and 2) the green felt is very fragile and not strong enough to hold the appliques, so I had to line the stocking with cotton material. It made a pretty design, though.

Made this for my daughter. She absolutely loved it. Takes some time to do, but very rewarding.

There are much fewer options for girls than for boys, this is the only one that looks nice but still not as nice as others.

I have made a Bucilla Stocking before for my grandson and am quite pleased with how that one turned out...I have not even begun to start this one yet but am very excited about it. Fortunately I have a whole year to work on it before next Christmas for my granddaughter!

This is the most difficult stocking I’ve done. It is difficult to tell the difference in some of the colors of floss and some of the embroidery is difficult. Some of the instructions seem to be in the wrong order and some don’t seem to make sense. The floss sometimes breaks without warning when I’m not even pulling it hard. They need to design a different way to add the name.

I ordered this stocking to make for my granddaughter. I love the detail and all the cute designs. I just finished my stocking and I am delighted with the outcome. However, this was a very time consuming project and I would consider the instructions vague in places. This would not be good for a beginner. I have made five other Bucilla stockings and this was by far the most difficult. Also, the space for the name on the cupcake is really too small. I love the finished stocking and I am sure my granddaughter will love it for years to come.
