Bucilla Sugar Plum Fairy Christmas Stocking Felt Applique Kit, 85431 18-Inch

I make a Christmas stocking for each one of my grandchildren and this one is number 6. It is pretty but ridiculously tedious. There are just too many things to make. I dont follow all the directions because I have learned my own shortcuts and it still took long to make. I do not recommend this for a beginner. Also there was floss that was missing so I had to use my own. The felt in these kits is flimsy so I take the piece that they give you to use as the back of the stocking and sew it to the front after I have finished it. This not only strengthens the front piece but also hides all the knots etc. on the back. Of course now I have to use a piece of my own sturdier felt as the back of the stocking but it does make it a better stocking.

I have made many, many stockings and this one was the worst. The face is small and needs to be pre printed so that no embroidery is necessary on it. Very hard to get the mouth right. I will never make another one of these. I have always been very good at embroidery but this was difficult. I was so sick of it by the time I got it finished it wasnt even pretty. Hope you have better luck with it than I had.

I love all the Bucilla stockings. They are so much fun to make. Sugar Plum Fairy is beautiful perfect for the little girl who is a girlie, girlie. Sweet and full of fun. I buy the stockings and make them in advance best present always a perfect gift anytime of year. Gave one for a new baby gift, 1st birthday etc. always loved. Great pricing on the stockings anytime of year, always have guests at parties wanting to know how to make them, where they can buy. Love sharing Bucilla stockings with everyone who enjoys making their own gifts and feels good about giving a gift that really can be enjoyed for years.

I bought a few of these to make for my kids. This project is not one to start if you don’t have a lot of time to devote to it! I wasn’t able to finish the project and ended up giving these away.

Not a beginners project but definitely worth the time and money

I love bucilla kits. They are not for a beginner, tho. This kit here is difficult because of all the intricate details. Is very beautiful once completed.

It is wonderful! I need to get more stockings. I have been doing Bucilla christmas stockings for about 25 years now. I do them for all of my family!

Plan on two weeks to do this stocking.m

This is the 5th Bucilla stocking I have made. This was actually the easiest. It took me two weeks to finish. I love the way it looks! My only complaint is that there werent nearly enough red beads, but fortunately I had leftovers from previous stockings. I recommend this kit especially if it is your first one.

While time consuming to put together, the end result was beautiful. This is a stocking that my daughter can keep for her lifetime, and each time she looks at it, will remember the times we spent together as a family.
