Atwood RV water heaters do not come with an anode. This fits perfectly in the drain plug hole. Theres some discussion as to whether one is needed or not, but Ill err on the side of too much protection as opposed to not enough.

I’m sure this is an excellent aluminum rod which is made for a stainless steel water heater. However I should have ordered a magnesium rod which is made for an aluminum tank.The metal which the rod is made of needs to be softer in the metal which the tank is made of.

I just put them in fit nice. Bought two. One for the ToyHauler, the other for our living quarters horse trailer

It was easy to install, fit perfectly. Hopefully it will hold up and last longer than the magnesium one it replaced. Time will tell.

The tank of an atwood is aluminum. All atwood water heaters have aluminum tank. For that reason, you do not need an anode rod. Anode rods are used in the SUBURBAN brand water heaters. I feel like has misleading advertisement! Do NOT change the plastic plug out for this, because you can very easily strip the threads where it is metal on metal.

The anode fits perfectly in our RV for the water heater. I recommend this product for anyone needing the anode to protect your hot water heater.

This product worked great straight out of the package. I previously purchased an anode rod made by suburban for my suburban water heater and I could not get it to thread correctly this one from Camco worked great straight out of the box threaded perfectly.
