This is the best price! I use it to add life to my water heater, hard water eats the rod, not the inside of your water heater

An RV salesman told me a few years ago that the Atwood doesnt need an Anode rod because the tank is glass lined. HE WAS WRONG. Sprung a leak in the nipple end of the tank at the water connection. The tank is glass lined but not the water connection part of the tank. Ate holes right through the nipple end.

Exactly like the one that came in our Camper!

Fit as expected. Can’t rate as to durability, as I have just installed in my 5er’s hot water tank. But have used before & they have always worked as expected. This is a must have item, to protect RV water heater, and should be replaced each year - every other year, depending on how much the rod erodes.

Just what the doctor (plumber) ordered. Good stuff at a great price. My last one was still useable but wow was it taking a beating. This one is on standby for a little while. If you dont have one in your tank youll be sorry. It takes the abuse so your tank doesnt.

$15 is cheap insurance for what could ammount to a well over $500 repair. Campers arent cheap and niether is maintenance on them when something goes wrong. I think the ounce of prevention rule was written for RV and home owners. Anode rods are designed to prevent harmful build-up in your hot water heater by causing the build-up to form on them. Yes it works! While your getting one for you camper, you might want to check the one in your house hot water heater (yes it has one too, and I bet its in need of replacement as well.) 5 minutes and 15 bucks can save you hundreds down the road.

This was purchased to use in my 2018 Scamp 16 travel trailer. I did not realize an anode rod is NOT needed in a Scamp (IF) the hot water heater is an Atwood brand, they DO NOT use an anode rod because the inside of their tanks is made of different materials. If the hot water heater is the Suburan brand, they DO use an anode rod. (This information is directly from the Scamp service department).

Atwood RV water heaters do not come with an anode. This fits perfectly in the drain plug hole. Theres some discussion as to whether one is needed or not, but Ill err on the side of too much protection as opposed to not enough.

Water Heater anode rod needs to be replaced every six months if using your RV regularly. A fellow RVer advised me of this. I had never replaced the anode and when I did it was more or less completely disintegrated. Replacing it every six months will prolong the life of your water heater and your soft water filter will stay cleaner longer too.
