Not gonna lie, i was expecting a little bit more quality.. even with it taped down it still started to warp.. and as i started layering, the paper legit just started to.. crumble. IDK, i could be doing it wrong too, Im pretty new to this.

It’s paper. Nice and thick for water color. I’m using it for pastels, it works for now.

If youre planning, as I was, to make a watercolor sketchbook with this, its grain short, with the grain running parallel to the 11 inch side. Even so, and even with the glue being on the short edge, this falls apart quite easily, a plus for me because that means no tearing. A minus if you intend to keep the book intact. If you want the best paper out there, go with Arches. If you plan to do the curriculum with Watercolor College, Chris Lyonn, the instructor, has stated if youre in the US, just go get that. I tried this on a lark, and hes not wrong. It cant do the things Arches can, for the techniques in that class. That said, if youre painting with Sarah Cray over at Lets Make Art, this is the exact paper she uses, or at least used to until they released their home brand, and it works perfectly for everything she teaches. The difference? While both embrace the spontaneous nature of watercolor, especially in things like clouds and trees, Chris avoids blooms and the rough, unblended edges they create. Sarah embraces blooms and the visual interest they provide. This paper makes it easier to get, harder to avoid, blooms. Chris works with natural pigment tube and pan based paints from brands like Winsor and Newton and Daniel Smith, favoring the lightfast properties and colors more suited to realistic paintings. Sarah favors dye-based liquid watercolors from brands like Dr. Ph Martins for their brighter colors better suited to illustrative painting. This works better with those dye-based paints, not as well with the tube and pan. So its either perfect or meh, depending on your intention. Additionally, this is popular with the urban sketch crowd because it is a stable, strong paper that can put up with a lot of reworking the under drawing without damage to the paper fibers. If thats what you are looking for, then this is a great choice. Thats my planned use for it, once its in a sketchbook form. That property of ease of reworking makes it ideal for beginners.

The cover of the drawing pad fell off once i opened it straight from its packaging. The paper is not absorbent enough for watercolor and it bends and warps as you draw even if you’re not using a lot of water.

Its great paper for the price, but when I ordered, the picture had a banner across the bottom that specified 2-Pack and I only received one pad. The picture has since been changed.

theres no mistaking the fact that its student-grade, obviously. watercolors tend to dry with harder edges than on 100% cotton. less staying ability. also warping, but not so egregious as to hinder work. im still relatively new to watercolor, so i couldnt compare this to other student-grade products of a similar price range, but it *seems* to be a very decent price. get this for laying down first drafts.

This product came recommended to use with children water colors, and it did not disappoint. Each page tares off the tablet easily and appropriately does not absorb the water color. We have also used it with other art projects that included glue and glitter, again there was no leaks or seep throughs. I would highly recommend this product for all of your arts and craft needs.

For a beginner like me, this is perfect: there’s a lot of paper at a reasonable price. But this paper dries so fast it’s hard to blend colors and results in weird blots when the colors dry.

I use this watercolor paper for printing coloring pages, since it is inexpensive and does the job well. However, this is my first time ordering it from amazon, and a few of the pages came ripped - to the point where I was unable to use them. I feel a little bit ripped off, but I need the paper now so guess Ill just recycle the unusable sheets.
