> 3 daythese are absolutely amazing pencils! they take a lot of back and forth to build up colour and to fill in the valleys of the paper, but as a finishing layer over something like a polychromos or pablo they are superb. makes for a very smooth intense surface. a pencil doesnt do as well as a light layer by itself, looks grainy with lots of white spots. i am really glad i bought these. i have gone back over elements in finished drawings to smooth out and intensify the colour and the drawings really look amazing!

> 3 dayI have wanted these pencils for the longest time and finally was able to splurge on them. They’re everything I hoped they would be and so much more! They’re highly pigmented, smooth as butter, blend wonderfully and are lightfast up to 100 years! So so so happy!

> 3 dayOn the pricey side, I absolutely Love these colored pencils.....Very creamy with amazing blending. Im not a professional, but i will not go back to anything else. I do plan to purchase Faber Castell polycromos to use with the Luminance pencils. Both are spectacular, and the quality is amazing!!! :)

> 3 dayOMG GAME CHANGER!!! Using these are like coloring with with a wonderfully soft and highly pigmented eyeliner! =D Your colorings turn out like a page ripped from a magazine! And permanent so no smudging like with my prismacolors (which are now growing dust in the closet) Do yourself a favor and factor this set into your budget!!! <3

> 3 dayI like them! I really do, BUT I don’t love them the way that I thought I would. They’re better than Prismacolor, but the wax content is still there, so I can’t layer until infinity like I want to (and why I bought them.) Also, there’s a limit to how many times you can draw, erase, and then draw again. It COULD be my paper (I’m using Bristol,) or it could simply be that I’m brandishing the paper too much. Either way, I’m starting to lean towards my Fabel Castels for my layering needs. I love the color variety, the packaging and I LOVE the design of the barrels. Oh! And side-note, they have a thick barrel, so buy a sharpener that will fit. I recommend the portable, rechargeable, AFMAT, as seen in the pictures, because it adjusts to a bunch of different widths, Luminescence included. EDIT: I LOVE the White colored pencil! It actually goes over color.

> 3 dayAlthough oils, acrylics and pen and ink are my weapons of choice, I have also used color pencils since the 1960s, and finally decided to take the plunge and blow my budget on Luminance. (Ive been experimenting with many brands since my retirement.) I must agree that they are right at the top of the wax-based crowd. Its funny, but the first thing I thought of when I tested them was that they reminded me of the Prismacolors I had 50 years ago. Prismas were relatively expensive in those days, too. I had wondered where those excellent pencils had gone, and now I know. They moved to Switzerland and changed their name. The Luminance is not a tool for coloring books at this price but they do live up to the hype. Its just too bad Prismacolor was sold to a company that regards them as a sideline, or they could still be up there too.
