I love these pencils! Wow, they are perfect! They are very expensive but, you cannot beat the quality!!!!!!

I am a cartoonist. Having a light fast product to make my greeting cards is very important. I love the way these pencils are so blendable.

BEST PENCILS EVER! They blend without me even trying, AND they hold a sharp tip very well!!! These pencils also erase really easily! Yes theyre a little more expensive then the alternative, but theyre %100 worth it!

There is no question about the quality of the pigments of these pencils. The color selection, however is limited, subdued. ( like paintings in an old art gallery youve dreamed of visiting, once nose to nose with the original you find its old and grey, freyed, corrugated because of the many paintings beneath. Reading about the formulation of these pencil cores one envisions color as true as technicolor. Once in hand its like looking through a dirty grimy filter, the colors are decrepit, dingy. With more vibrant colors it is always possible to dampen their brilliance with greys and browns but how is it possible to increase a pencils intensity except by darkening the background, the contrast. Monet Im not! As received, the wood casing of #810 was split along one third of the length of the pencil. This does not bode well for the durability of the set, the likelihood of surviving sharpening seems questionable.

OMG GAME CHANGER!!! Using these are like coloring with with a wonderfully soft and highly pigmented eyeliner! =D Your colorings turn out like a page ripped from a magazine! And permanent so no smudging like with my prismacolors (which are now growing dust in the closet) Do yourself a favor and factor this set into your budget!!! <3

On the pricey side, I absolutely Love these colored pencils.....Very creamy with amazing blending. Im not a professional, but i will not go back to anything else. I do plan to purchase Faber Castell polycromos to use with the Luminance pencils. Both are spectacular, and the quality is amazing!!! :)

I cant address longevity or color fastness because Ive only had them for four days. I can say that these are fantastic pencils. I started with the kind of pencils that are 120 fo $20, which were OK. They put lots of colores on the paper,, after all. I gradually worked my way to Prismacolor and Derwent. Then I got a book on colored pencils that really praised Pablos. You can imagine what the author thought about Luminances. I had some free money from the 5% rebate deal and I just blew most of it on these pencils. I should have skipped all those cheap pencils and bought high quality pencils from the beginning. It probably would have been cheaper. But I dont think I would have properly appreciated Luminance pencils without having used the others. Prismacolors had definitely raised my standards. I could have lived with them but I suspect theyre no longer my first choice. I could use more greens, though.
