Continental GatorSkin DuraSkin Tire

when i opened the package i thought the tires looked flimsy. but when I apllied them to my wheel and inflated them they looked so good and high quality. I Did alot of research to choose tires, and found these tires the best for the money. They’re supposedly reliable and has good puncture resistance. I didn’t find them so hard to get onto my wheels, unlike what some videos on youtube claimed. The grip and rolling resistance is noticeably nice. I upgraded from 23 mm to 25 mm on the same wheels with no issues so far. helpful not, If you did’t have tire levers, or your levers are not reliable, use metal spoon with no sharp edges!

I am a fan of Continental bike tires, but even with their 4000 series I experienced an inordinate number of flats after 400-500 miles. In their defense, I live in Sonoma CA, where we have lots of wine tasting going on and plenty of fender-benders producing broken head lights. They litter our bike lanes on our busiest roads. So I took did some research and pin-pointed Continentals Gator Skin Dura-Skin Tires. Im closing in on my first 1,000 miles on this pair and have had no problems at all. I adopted a habit of carefully cleaning and inspecting my tires after every ride, because many of our flats are surprises. Small particles of broken headlight glass can easily penetrate most bike tires, and take several rides to make it through to your tube. So even if todays ride was over pristine, well maintained bike lanes or roads, those particles can get to your tube and its tire-changing time. So far, the GatorSkin DuraSkin Tires Im riding not only resist punctures, but I have barely needed to pull my bike pump out. I may sacrifice a small amount of speed, but given the number of flats Ive dealt with using other tires, Ill take the GatorSkins, hands down. These are as tough as they come.

Considering a local bike shop sells these for $60 a piece, 75 for two is a good deal.

Really like them. It’s almost one and half years since I installed them on my bicycle. I haven’t had any pictures for 1.5 years! Amazing!

Good wheels

Bought a set of these tires because I heard they were good. They functioned as expected. Only got one flat (front tire) in about 1,500 plus miles. Would deff. get them again

3-4 flats since I changed tires. notices a few holes in the back wheel.

In riding 40 miles a day year round. And im a bug guy? Dont worry you know when to replace these babies work!!

They are great for a road bike. I go over pot holes on the road when l have to and cracks too, so far l have no problems with this tire!
