Greater than one weekArrived on time and perfect condition! I had to put into an external docking case before instilling it to format it for MAC OS. I opted for a fresh install so i chose to install a brand new copy of El Capitan. This involved downloading a copy from the Apple store to a flash drive and the instaliing the new drive and running the set up from the flash drive. There are plenty of options to clone your current drive (some free) so you can clone and then install and you are done. My mid 2012 MBP saw a huge preformance increase with this drive. I changed to this HD and also went from 8gig of MEM to 16gig of MEM - it is like a brand new computer now.

> 3 dayAfter 3months, no issues at all. You only get 698MB, but that seems to be normal for all 750GB drives with Windows OS formatting (I am not exactly sure why). Been using as my primary drive and it still says 100% life left on it.

> 3 dayWould rate 5 stars but a clean install shows only 698 GB available, maybe the OS takes 52GB?

28-11-2024I installed this in my HP laptop after getting a Windows message that my hard drive was failing. Using the recommended software for cloning I transferred the files and installed the new drive. Hurray! It booted up and worked normally with all my programs and files in place and operative.

27-11-2024Im not certain what the issue is with the drive. HDDSMART shows it as working perfectly and having good speeds. But about twice a month I get a freeze on my work laptop, which I feel like is coming from the hdd. Im not certain that the drive is at fault, but i believe it is. The issues mainly seem to arise from waking the computer from sleep.

> 3 dayReplaced a 6y/o hdd with this. its better than new. i used Macrium Reflect instead of Acronis. Take the time to manage your partitions so you dont have unallocated space separated from the drive you want to expand. It took about three hours to clone the hdd to ssd via usb 2.0 cable. An excellent upgrade.

> 3 dayMy daughters 2012 MacBook Pro non-retina was really getting slow, due in part to her abuse, and age. Replaced with the MX300; wow what a difference. Did not clone her old drive, did a clean install of the OS and all the other software on it. Amazing how much faster this computer is now. Love it, well worth the price and time.

> 3 dayAfter successfully updating another MacBook Pro (#1) with a Samsung 500GB Internal SSD successfully, I wanted to update another MacBook Pro (#2) with this 750GB SSD from Crucial. I updated the other in November 2015 and it is running without a glitch. With this Crucial, (#2) runs much faster as expected. However, about 4 weeks after install, I started noticing a lot of random shutdowns and spinning globes. I didnt think much of it until these episodes became more frequent. I started running DiskUtility and each time I run it, there is some kind of corruption error or incorrect block count error or invalid free block cont, which DiskUtility seems to successfully repair. Then 1 minute later, a new error appears. Now the random shutdowns are almost daily with no hint of when it will happen. Meanwhile, (#1) which is 3 years older and a less powerful MacBook keeps working perfectly with never an error on DiskUtility. I may have flawed Crucial SSD, but it may just be a cheaper product. Unfortunately, I am past the 30 day Amazon replacement window, so I will try contacting Crucial to see how they honor their warranty. I will update this as I interact with Crucial directly. I give it 2 stars just because of the speed increase. However, stay away from it.

Greater than one weekI got one for me and one for my wife. It took less than 2 hours to clone my wifes 750 GB regular spinning drive to this SSD using CloneZilla. Mine is running Slackware-current and is lightning fast

28-11-2024Used it as a replacement for my 500GB Dell laptop OEM HD and have loved it since. Did have a little problem transferring cloning the original HD onto it but overcame that easily. Boot up time is fast and obviously file access is equally rapid. I dont have any benchmark studies but am completely satisfied with its performance. Virus scans provide the most extreme example of the speed gains with a SSD. The Quick Scan for Microsoft Defender virus check is so fast I was completely caught off guard when it flashed complete. The original OEM HD was no slouch but this is in a class by itself. Not quite instantaneous in loading files and programs but fast enough to satisfy me for a relatively modest investment.
