> 3 dayThe price was a little high, but then it isnt a HHD. I love the light weight & size of these. I think I notice a speed change on boot up, but I dont know if that is the other new parts of my computer doing that. With the 750GB this SSD should outlast me. My old HHD was a 500GB & I didnt even use half of it. Anyway, I just use these as data storage. No OS on them.

> 3 dayFor my main desktop been waiting for a drive that made sense with a ~300GB Boot drive...This is the best deal from a reliable company for anything much bigger than 500GB...Mushkin 1TB is the only other option but that is kinda slow...MX300 is a winner. Hint make regular backups, (Paragon have a free version backup app available that will even move an OS drive to different hardware). Super drive got multiple sizes (275GB for the laptop)

> 3 dayI bought this drive to upgrade from a smaller Crucial SSD in a desktop. I ran the Crucial software available on their site and it indicated this would work in my computer before I placed the order.. The computer is home built and the MB and CPU are now 8 years old - but its quad core and still quite fast. I tried twice to use the cloning software, and tried twice to do a fresh install. I probably called Crucial 10 times over a two day period, and they were very helpful. The last individual I spoke to indicated some changes that could possibly make this work, but they would affect how I use the computer, so I elected to return the drive (at his suggestion). Doesnt mean its not a great drive - its just that it may not work in an older system unless you are tech savvy and can determine the work around.. I have easily installed four other Crucial SSDs in my laptop and this same desktop, and they work flawlessly, as does the memory I purchased from Crucial to upgrade that part of the computer.

> 3 dayFor the storage size and price it is worth every penny. I also have a Samsung 840 PRO SSD in my pc along with the MX300 drive I also have a Mushken SSD. The MX300 is capable of keeping on the heels of the Samsung drive just fine. With reads and writes. The Musken drive which I spent more money on then the MX300 drive is left in the dust by both drives. But I am very pleased with the performance of the MX300, I wasnt expecting it to be able to keep up with a Samsung drive, but it does very well. I recommend getting this drive over a Samsung 840 Pro for two reasons. The speeds are very close to each other and two the price of the MX300 was a lot cheaper then what I spent on the Samsung drive.

08-06-2025I got this on sale for $100, and for that price this is an absolute steal, and honestly I would have been willing to pay more for it. Speed isnt blazing, but its slotted in between TLC SSDs and MLC SSDs and can often be had for TLC SSD price. This is especially great for my itx build, where I dont have the luxury of space to fit spinning platter drives but still want a decent amount of storage. Hasnt stopped working after a couple months, so no immediate reliability issues are present.

> 3 dayI put this in my mid-2012 MacBook at the same time I upgraded from 8 GB to 16 GB RAM. I copied the old hard drive over in its entirety. Worked great. Takes about 15 seconds for startup vs 28 seconds previously. Converted a large video file in 18 minutes that took over an hour previously. Not sure how much is due to the SSD drive vs the RAM, but I am very happy with the new performance.

> 3 dayI bought one of these to upgrade my mid 2010 MacBook Pro. I had previously replace the original hard drive with a 750GB drive, but the system was getting slower with each successive release of the Mac OS. I was concerned when I first got this drive because there were no instructions except for a web link to a utility that runs on windows. So I clicked on the chat button of the Crucial web site and was promptly greeted by an agent who gave me the link for instructions on a Mac. I had already upgraded to El Capitan and the instructions for installation did not require any third party software, only the Mac disk utility. I used an external drive case to connect the new drive to my Mac (the one I got for my earlier disk upgrade) and cloned my hard drive to the Crucial SSD. This took quite something like 8 hours due to the disk size and the relatively slow USB connection, so I was a bit worried about how the SSD would perform once I installed in my MacBook. My worries were unfounded; my system works really well and boots up in a fraction of the time it used to. Almost everything runs much faster and the computer feels like new once again. The only glitch Ive had so far is that my Microsoft Office 11 software decided it was on a new machine and demanded that I enter the license number before I could use it. Fortunately, I save the original disks and packaging, so it all worked well (and quickly) after I entered the license number. I like this upgrade so much I will get another for my wifes Macbook Pro and also for my Mac mini.

> 3 dayWorked flawlessly out of the box. I purchased this to replace a failing disk drive in a Lenovo Y500 laptop. Worked like a charm, no issues. Your mileage may vary, make sure your laptop or whatever actually supports 6GB/s SATA; I purchased a very similar Crucial MX-part SSD for an older HP laptop, that did NOT work because that particular laptops controller was too old. Boot times are fantastic. I did not use the included acronis software link, I instead use the free MACRIUM REFLECT software I already had on my prime PC to do the disk image backup and restore to the SSD.

> 3 dayWorks great in my new build. Since I am no speed freak, it worked out fine for me. It is bigger than a 500 GB but less than 1 TB. Unless you need that extra speed of a Samsung EVO 500 GB, an extra twenty bucks can normally get you this. I do own two Samsung EVO 850 500 GB and I am very happy with them. But since I am not a serious gamer anymore or doing scientific/CAD calculations, this is a great drive for the price. I like both brands. If you are looking for the top of the line, then you will need to spend on a Samsung Pro version. Based on my usage, this drive should last me 10+ years without much problems.

> 3 dayGood price, and it was easy to clone over to from my old Mac Book Pro drive -- and so far its functioned perfectly (and no real concerns about that; Crucial Technology is known for the excellent, long-lasting quality of its products).
