> 3 day0-100 real Quick. My laptop would take literally 5 minutes to boot. Thats just to boot. Then loading programs or other things would take for ever. I was looking into buying a new laptop but Im glad I did some research first. My laptop now takes literally 5 seconds to boot. I dont do anything fancy with computers so glad I didnt have to spend on new one.

Greater than one weekGot this drive to upgrade an Asus laptop that I recently purchased. I was migrating from an older Asus Laptop and I had also purchased a USB to SATA cable to image the drive. I found out that you cannot image the drive through a USB and have it bootable. Both machines were running Windows 10. I used Macrium Reflect free for doing a backup of my old drive to another external hard drive over USB. I then created a USB boot drive using the utility in Macrium Reflect (boot and recovery/restore tools)...set the BIOS in my new laptop to boot from the USB drive...installed the Crucial drive in my new laptop...booted using the USB drive...and then restored the three partitions from the backup (separate USB drive) to the new Crucial drive. I then used the utility to fix the boot sector (1st partition) then shut down the computer. I then crossed my fingers and rebooted...it booted normally and discovered the new hardware and installed the correct drivers. I found that you must have the SSD drive hooked up to a SATA interface and do a restore instead of cloning the old drive directly (I had tried this first without success). I hope this helps anyone looking to upgrade their laptop.

> 3 dayI installed this in my HP laptop after getting a Windows message that my hard drive was failing. Using the recommended software for cloning I transferred the files and installed the new drive. Hurray! It booted up and worked normally with all my programs and files in place and operative.

> 3 dayWorks great in my new build. Since I am no speed freak, it worked out fine for me. It is bigger than a 500 GB but less than 1 TB. Unless you need that extra speed of a Samsung EVO 500 GB, an extra twenty bucks can normally get you this. I do own two Samsung EVO 850 500 GB and I am very happy with them. But since I am not a serious gamer anymore or doing scientific/CAD calculations, this is a great drive for the price. I like both brands. If you are looking for the top of the line, then you will need to spend on a Samsung Pro version. Based on my usage, this drive should last me 10+ years without much problems.

> 3 dayGoing on over six months and it hasnt failed me. Make a huge difference in performance. Spent a lot of time deciding between different ones and glad I picked the Crucial MX300. Well worth the price.

> 3 dayBought this for two reasons. My six year old laptop still had its original HHD in it, and with an average life of four years I was on borrowed time before it failed. The other, I wanted a faster laptop but didnt to replace it as there was nothing wrong with it. The best and far cheaper solution was to upgrade to a SSD. Wow, what a difference it has made, the laptop is like brand new. Should be good enough for me for a few more years.

> 3 dayAfter 3months, no issues at all. You only get 698MB, but that seems to be normal for all 750GB drives with Windows OS formatting (I am not exactly sure why). Been using as my primary drive and it still says 100% life left on it.

> 3 dayI have a Mac Mini that is a couple years old which has a 1tb 5400rpm hard drive. When I first got it, I cloned it to an external SSD (different brand than this one) but the SSD was only 256gb and since I use Parallels, I had another external SSD for the Virtual Machines. Eventually, something happened in which the SSD cratered and I had to revert back to the painstakingly slow hdd. I had been keeping an eye on a 1tb SSD, expecting it to fall below $200 at some point. One day, I was cursing through the 1tb SSDs and came across this one... a 750gb SSD which is actually more than adequate for my needs, plus it was well under $200. I feel that this is the right compromise where 500gb is nice, but when running VMs where one may need to make backups then it can get really tight whereas the 750gb drive is just perfect! First thing I did when I got the SSD in my hands were to move the large files from my mac mini to an external storage, copy my VMs from the external SSD to the internal hdd and then format the new SSD and clone the drive. For me, it took about six hours because of all the large files I had to move. I do a lot of video editing and have a lot of video files. When I rebooted, I immediately saw the speed difference, especially when I logged in and opened up a VM. Web browsing is a lot faster too, since every element on a web page is downloaded into the cache. This brand rocks... very fast and very solid. Now, I feel as though I am on a computer that is seamless with memory, processor speed, and now disk speed. What is really cool is that I can easily shut down the mac mini and take the external SSD and plug it into my MacBook pro and boot off of the external SSD so that I can have my personal desktop when I travel.

> 3 dayWonderful drive. Installation and loading windows took me only 1 hour total. For $180, my laptop has a SSD and is like new again. This is not 750GB. This is 749,629,075,454 bytes or 698GB. Reduced 1 star because of the 698 GB vs promised 750GB
