Drive works great on my MBP.. The migration software is for a PC. Acorns image 15. Tried to install on my PC and it kept saying installer error. So if you are going to use in a Mac plan on using another program to clone with.

I bought this drive to upgrade from a smaller Crucial SSD in a desktop. I ran the Crucial software available on their site and it indicated this would work in my computer before I placed the order.. The computer is home built and the MB and CPU are now 8 years old - but its quad core and still quite fast. I tried twice to use the cloning software, and tried twice to do a fresh install. I probably called Crucial 10 times over a two day period, and they were very helpful. The last individual I spoke to indicated some changes that could possibly make this work, but they would affect how I use the computer, so I elected to return the drive (at his suggestion). Doesnt mean its not a great drive - its just that it may not work in an older system unless you are tech savvy and can determine the work around.. I have easily installed four other Crucial SSDs in my laptop and this same desktop, and they work flawlessly, as does the memory I purchased from Crucial to upgrade that part of the computer.

With an SATA-to-USB 3.0 adapter, this works great as a portable USB drive. Its super-fast for back-ups and file transfers, and its so much smaller than a typical external USB drive. Eventually, this will make its way into a desktop system replacing a 3.5 7200rpm 500 GB hard-drive...from experience, I can anticipate huge performance improvements with an solid-state drive in that system.

I replaced my late 2011 MacBook Pros failing hard drive with this one. My laptop got a new life as performance is amazing. Very happy with the purchase. I chose to install fresh OS on new drive and copied files from old drive using external case.

I got this 750GB drive during the Thanksgiving sale for $100, and at that price it is a steal, considering how it now popped back up to $215. It performs just as good as my Samsung 840 Pro 256GB and 850 Evo 500GB series SSDs, and I bought those for about $150 last year. Their prices are still holding up quite high:

I got this on sale for $100, and for that price this is an absolute steal, and honestly I would have been willing to pay more for it. Speed isnt blazing, but its slotted in between TLC SSDs and MLC SSDs and can often be had for TLC SSD price. This is especially great for my itx build, where I dont have the luxury of space to fit spinning platter drives but still want a decent amount of storage. Hasnt stopped working after a couple months, so no immediate reliability issues are present.

Used it as a replacement for my 500GB Dell laptop OEM HD and have loved it since. Did have a little problem transferring cloning the original HD onto it but overcame that easily. Boot up time is fast and obviously file access is equally rapid. I dont have any benchmark studies but am completely satisfied with its performance. Virus scans provide the most extreme example of the speed gains with a SSD. The Quick Scan for Microsoft Defender virus check is so fast I was completely caught off guard when it flashed complete. The original OEM HD was no slouch but this is in a class by itself. Not quite instantaneous in loading files and programs but fast enough to satisfy me for a relatively modest investment.

0-100 real Quick. My laptop would take literally 5 minutes to boot. Thats just to boot. Then loading programs or other things would take for ever. I was looking into buying a new laptop but Im glad I did some research first. My laptop now takes literally 5 seconds to boot. I dont do anything fancy with computers so glad I didnt have to spend on new one.

Bought this for two reasons. My six year old laptop still had its original HHD in it, and with an average life of four years I was on borrowed time before it failed. The other, I wanted a faster laptop but didnt to replace it as there was nothing wrong with it. The best and far cheaper solution was to upgrade to a SSD. Wow, what a difference it has made, the laptop is like brand new. Should be good enough for me for a few more years.
