It does the job and my Mac is loading apps quicker which is awesome!

I was somewhat concerned about compatibility and performance after reading some of the reviews. I just bought a iMac 27 (2017) w/8GB, 4.2GHz processor and 512G SSD. The plan from the beginning was to add more memory myself since it is much cheaper than buying it from Apple. I ran the NovaBench (which supposedly also test the performance if your MACs DRAM) tool before adding the memory. Then I added the memory to the unpopulated slots (didnt move the existing 2 x 4GB modules as some folks report they have to do). The machine booted up (a bit of lack the first time, maybe 15-30 seconds) and reported 40GB. Then I Ran the NovaBench tool again and now the combined performance number was actually slightly higher (there is always some variation from run to run).

My 2017 IMAC failed to boot while this memory was installed. I tried moving the memory around to different slots. 1& 2, then 3&4, then 1&3, then 2&4. Nothing worked. I ensured the memory was properly installed. After I removed the Crucial memory the mac now boots properly.

Wanted my new MiniPC to have 16 GB RAM and utilize the dual channel mode.

Does not fit the 2017 27 inch iMac.

AMAZING SPEED INCREASE!! Got these sticks today. Put into slots 1 and 3 (moved the 4gb sticks to 2 and 4) DONE! 40megs memory 1st try!
