You can’t go wrong with Daniel Smith. This set is really all you need to get started. You can make a ton of different colors with this set.

these paints are great- beautiful color, texture, mixing ability

The colors are very dark even with alot of water; not primary colors like I had hoped for. The tubes are ultra tiny. These watercolors are way too expensive for such a small amount. Do not recommend buying these.

These are GREAT. First of all I have become a HUGE Daniel Smith fan, and havent met a color of theirs I didnt like. These pigments are earthy and granulating. The Amethyst even has a little sparkle. This is a great way to try the Primatek line because its a good variety of color. I always compare between Amazon, Dick Blick & a few other places for the best price. Usually Amazon is not the best price - but they are the fastest. This time they had a heck of a deal on this set!

These watercolors are not my preference. I don’t like the shimmer in them. It’s my fault I’m sure, but I was not expecting these to have shimmer in them. These are the first watercolors I’ve ever used that had shimmer in them. I’m sure some people would love them. The colors aside from the shimmer are pretty and easy to paint with. If you’re looking for sparkle/shimmer or just something different this is definitely a good price for what you’re getting.
