DANIEL SMITH 285610005 Extra Fine Essentials Introductory Watercolor, 6 Tubes, 5ml, Blue/Transparent/Yellow

This is a great starter collection of Primatek colors. Top row excluding Bloodstone is this intro set. All the colors are very easy to work with and have lovely granulation properties. Jadeite is a wonderful vibrant green, and the sparkle in amethyst is truly gorgeous. Daniel Smith has some lovely options in their mineral-based watercolors, and I actually find myself drawn to them over the traditional colors due to their uniqueness.

This set of watercolors has a warm and cool tone for each primary. The tubes are super tiny, however. They are good if you want to sample the much touted Daniel Smith paints or if youre not sure if you like painting with watercolors.

Very happy I purchased this set of paints. It contains the perfect set of colors to help me learn to mix colors. The quality of the paints is excellent. The colors are vibrant. It was a great choice into professional quality watercolors.

Die Lieferung hat ewig gedauert, einen Monat, und kam wohl durch die Corona-Beschränkungen nicht besonders gut voran. Man sollte auf jeden Fall Geduld mitbringen. Nicht alles was aus USA nach Deutschland geschickt wird, geht unterwegs verloren, manches schon. Ich will eigentlich nichts mehr aus den USA bestellen. Sorry... Der Preis hat mich dazu verführt, mich auf höheres Aquarellniveau zu begeben. Ich bin über die Winsor und Newton Cotman-Phase hinaus, male mit Van Gogh, oder Schmincke Horadam, oder Sennelier. Ich bin kein Profi. Daniel Smith sind teuer, deren Farbkarte ist jedoch atemberaubend Von dem schwer granulierenden schwarzen Hematite mal abgesehen (ist oben in der Darstellung nicht nicht abgebildet - stattdessen 2x Piemontite), finde ich die Auswahl des Sets sehr schön. Und ja, es macht Lust auf mehr. Die Pigmente der Primatek-Farben werden aus Mineralen/Halbedelsteinen/Schmucksteinen hergestellt. 5 ml Tuben sind halt winzig. Man kann mit dem Inhalt ungefähr 2 Halfpans befüllen. Im Vergleich mit anderen Verkäufern war der Preis für das Set top.

The biggest plus for these paints are the amount of pigment you can get with very little work once dried in pans and the range of colors you can get from just these 6. The French ultramarine is granulating which can be good or bad depending on what you like, you can create interesting effects when mixing it with other colors, but youre unlikely to get an even color out of it. Overall, its worth the money. I was expecting to get my mind blown by these paints after using cotmans for a while, but they didnt really deliver that. However, they will certainly last longer than the cotman pans because they take less work to get intense pigment

This kit has all the paints needed to make most colors when mixed. It arrived in great condition. Only thing is that Daniel Smith paint tubes seem chock full so be ready to dispense into a well on your palette or a pan ready to fill when you open the tube. I use a cut up old credit card to clear the paint from the cap prior to replacing the cap. Colors mix well, have vibrant color and last a long time as only a little goes a long way.

Nice quality watercolors at a good price

The colors are interesting. The minerals make for watercolors that are quite granulating. The amethyst sparkles! It makes for a mystical effect.
