> 3 dayI do not do reviews often and regular but sometimes, when products deserve recognition I do post them. These colors are very bright and it shows. They blend and mix very good and have an excellent pigment consistency, they do not “mud” after drying. Sadly, when I receive them they were all out of the box and apparently the weight of other products in which they were send in, put too much pressure and the tubes came looking used and squeezed. But that’s something that happens but the little I could use from whatever amount was squeeze out and on the neck of the tubes was enough to see them on paper. I am amazed and will tell others to buy them and try them. Very pleased with the product, the package... well it happens ;) The combinations are truly spectacular. Great product...

> 3 dayI am in love with these watercolors. The granulation is so fun to play with, and you really get a good deal price-wise. Unique and quality.

Greater than one weekIve only swatched them and have been playing with color mixing. This would make a good set for limited palette work. The colors are highly pigmented, a littlegoes a long way. There are two yellows, two reds, two blues. Enjoying these paints.

> 3 dayThese are professional gum arabic based watercolors with a decent amount of pigment load. Five of the watercolors in this set are single pigment. New Gamboge is no longer a single pigment color as the pigment PY153 appears to have been discontinued. Strangely, the set I received included two tubes of Pyrrol Scarlet and no New Gamboge. I used a single pigment yellow (similar to New Gamboge hue) from a different manufacturer and mixing that with the 5 colors in the Daniel Smith set I received worked fine. Pigment information for the colors in this set: - Hansa Yellow Light: PY3 - Lightfastness II - Series 1 - New Gamboge: PY97 PY110 - Lightfastness I - Series 1 - Pyrrol Scarlet: PR255 - Lightfastness I - Series 3 - Quinacridone Rose: PV19 - Lightfastness I - Series 2 - French Ultramarine: PB29 - Lightfastness I - Series 2 - Phatlo Blue (GS): PB15:3 - Lightfastness I - Series 1 I cant comment on the New Gamboge, but the pigment load and transparency of the other 5 colors are very good. Overall, this is a great set to practice on mixing colors from a limited set of pigments. Update 10/4/16: I ordered a second set of these watercolors and this one also came with two tubes of Pyrrol Scarlet and no New Gamboge Update 10/19/16: I contacted Daniel Smith to inform them about the packaging issue with this product. They offered to send me the missing New Gamboge tubes free of charge even though I had purchased the product from Amazon. Not only excellent product but also excellent customer service!

> 3 dayThe product itself performs beautifully. I was excited thinking this was a great deal for 6 versatile colors. Unfortunately when I received the package, new gamboge had leaked and I lost a decent amount of product so I was pretty upset about that.

> 3 dayThe box sure does look WAAAAAAAY bigger on photos, its super tiny (which is understandable for the amount of paint you recieve), the paints are beautiful, great price for a starter set and even better for beginners. My only problem is that the ultramarine blue that this set has is a granulating color, and i don’t think it’d be okay for a beginner who doesn’t know much about mixing or granulating colors, but that’s more of a complain for Daniel Smith rather than the seller. Overall is such a beautiful set, a must have if you are watercolor artist who wants to use more professional paints but doesn’t know much about mixing (it will help you a lot with mixing!)

> 3 dayJa, die Farben sind sehr intensiv. Ich bin kein Profi aber wollt ich diese Aquarell Farbe ausprobieren und habe ich tolle Ergebnisse hingekriegt. Für Anfänger sind natürlich sehr teuer, muss mal jeder selber entscheiden. Trotz 5 ml. Teuer Aquarell Farbe + Versand kosten Sind tolle und sehr intensive Farben.

> 3 dayTubes were all outside of box in amazon shipment. The packaging Shown for paints was ugly and beat up. Looked used. No packaging other than flimsy Daniel Smith box was on paints. Very frustrated by that. Looks like I bought someone’s second hand box. The paints themselves seem ok.

> 3 dayPackaging of the watercolors reeked of an unknown smell like a perfume. Before even picking it up you got a very intense smell that pervaded everything. Made the other items smell like it for a few hours afterwards. Removed the directions and packaging, and 0laced inside plaatic, it was still strong!!!!. The product itself is usable after airing outbut I no longer am able to keep it in the packaging which making storage an issue for the 6 very small items contained. The product worked well but this really made me not a fully happy customer.
