So far so good. I just it hooked up yesterday. The factory settings has the screen way too bright and it had to be turned way down to even come close to my calibrated Sony monitor. I cant comment on the color accuracy until I get it calibrated, but based on a visual comparison w/ my calibrated Sony monitor, Id say it is much too bright and the colors are much too saturated, right out of the box. Works fine for its secondary purpose, which is watching movies from the computer.

I am not one of those people who knows all there is to know about ICC profiles and gamma correction, etc. I just know when a monitor is bugging my eyes like crazy, and looks off in about every way. I got this monitor delivered to work and played with the settings all day yesterday. I also looked at what settings others had said were apparently good, and tried those. I started to doubt my eyes. But after I got home and looked at the other 27 monitor I have there (different brand -- you can find my review on that one if youre interested), it was immediately apparently that it was not in my head. This one is maybe half as good, and it was actually $20 more expensive than the other one. The bottom line is this: there are MUCH better monitors out there for the same price (cheaper, in fact). And, if youve ever seen a Dell monitor that looked off and just couldnt be dialed in, this one is exactly like that -- just bigger. I wish it wasnt true, but it is, at least for the one I got. I have returned it (that part went flawlessly -- thank you Amazon), and am going with a slightly different model from the same brand I have at home (different only because I need VESA mounts for work, and that one only has a stand).

excellent quality monitors- I bought 2 of them. I use programs with lots of menus so I need the screen real estate. I did a lot of research and found this monitor to be great for graphic design. I have them mounted via brackets together and I am happy. The colors and brightness are nice and vivid. I also like that the screen is matte and not reflective. So when you are in a bright lit room you dont see yourself in the monitor, like a mirror. I have an apple monitor that is reflective and I notice that I prefer the non-reflective displays such as this one.

I bought the P2414H to use it as an office monitor. The monitor has an elegant design, its easy on the eyes (after I calibrated it to my taste), text is clear and easy to read, power consumption is low, the menu is well thought out, etc.. Overall, this is an excellent monitor for the money. My only gripe is with color rendition of IPS technology in general. This is my second IPS monitor for past three years (after the HP ZR24W, which was considered a good monitor back in 2011). Despite spending hours calibrating colors and brightness, both IPS monitors have worse color reproduction than the 24 Dell UltraSharp monitor that Ive had at home since ... 2007 (and that monitor is/was supposedly in the same class as these newer monitors). Still, considering the available choices, the P2414H is excellent.

I bought this monitor to use in portrait mode and I was extremely pleased to find that its picture quality in portrait mode is exactly the same as in landscape mode, which is uncommon. The P2414H has one of the narrowest bezels available in a 24 which also lended itself well to my application. It has a business-class non-reflective screen surface which I prefer. Startup sync is nearly instantaneous via DisplayPort. Overall image quality is quite good. I liked that the OSD can be rotated to portrait mode, although it doesnt work automatically via a rotation sensor, that would have been a nice plus. Im using the integrated USB hub for mouse and keyboard and it works fine. Included cables comprise a USB host-to-target for the built-in USB hub, a DisplayPort, and an analog VGA. A snap-on plastic cover is also included which masks the cable connections on the back of the monitor which helps cosmetically if people can see the back. I would give this unit 5 stars except for some reason Dell failed to include sRGB compliance in the image presets. I notice the P2414H is Windows Logod, and I thought that sRGB was required for Windows logo. sRGB in presets is a quick way to set up 6500K color temperature and 2.2 gamma, so in situations where I cant use a real color calibrator I like to have sRGB preset so I dont have to fiddle with color and contrast settings. Dell supplies an ICM profile with their monitor driver download, but it has only one profile for P2414H D6500 rather than multiple profiles for the different color presets available via the OSD, and its unclear exactly what settings the ICM profile corresponds to, so its essentially useless. Note that the monitor has internal sound, but no speakers unless you purchase the optional soundbar. I only mention this because plugging in the P2414H will automatically set it as your primary sound device and you wont hear anything since there are no speakers. My sound going away puzzled me for a moment until I noticed the monitor had enumerated and audio device.

I got this because I got sick of looking at my 13 laptop monitor. It works great and has good colors. Since I have a mac, I had to get the adapter to plug any type of monitor into my laptop.. One thing I like about this monitor is that it adjusts up/down, tilt left/right/forward/back and even rotates if you are working on soemthing very tall vertically. I recommend it, no black pixels at all.

Ive been using three of these for a few months now and Im very happy with them. I mostly use them for programming and gaming. They look great and I love being able to change their orientation easily. Portrait orientation is great for reading long documents or looking at source code, and the tilt and height adjustment is helpful to keep them in a comfortable position. I can easily view 3-5 source code files side by side on each of them. I mostly play Counter Strike and have not noticed any input lag, and Im pretty picky about that. There is no splash screen when you turn the monitors on. I like how configurable the monitor settings are. For example, you can make the power LED stay off while the monitor is on. I think smaller monitors (maybe 21 or 22 inch) might work better for a triple monitor setup because you wouldnt have to turn your head as much and they would take up less desk space, but these are great if you have a big desk. I have not been able to drive any of these monitors over VGA (I tried all 3 of the cables that came with them). The screen flickers and looks really bad. VGA isnt really meant to drive resolutions this high though, and it isnt a problem for me.

I purchased this monitor to use in portrait orientation in a dual monitor setup at work. I do a lot of document review and word processing at my job, so a monitor that is able to pivot to portrait orientation so that I can view documents in full-size was a must. I should note that the Dell P2314H seems to essentially be a slightly slimmed-down update of the Dell U2312HM, which I also own, and which has positive overall reviews on Amazon. My review of the P2314H, in summary, is that this monitor is perfect for my setup and it is a great value. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: -The packaging it came in was very robust -No dead pixels or screen quality issues -It has the ability to pivot to portrait orientation, which is excellent for anyone who does a lot of document review and/or word processing at work -Adjusting the tilt, swivel, pivot, and height is a very smooth process, yet the monitor feels very solid/sturdy at the same time -Wide and sturdy stand -It wont win any design awards like the $999 Apple Thunderbolt Display, but the material and build quality of the P2314H looks and feels high for its price range -Several connection options (VGA, DVI, DisplayPort) -4 USB 2.0 ports -Great value for the price--I got it for $154.99 Cons: -No HDMI Again, the monitor has just about every feature and is really solid. A great buy in my opinion!

The display is excellent! Love the adjustable height! Be aware that the old HDMI socket from your laptop does NOT connect directly to the display. Well, it doesnt if you have a Lenovo U400 or a 2015 Mac Mini. The plug is similar looking but is about 1 mm too wide and absolutely will not fit into the HDMI port. (I cant be the only one who realized the plug was a different size after 5 tries. :-) ) The connection problem was easily solved by getting an adapter. (Shout out to the sales guy at Microcenter who looked at a photo of the cable an plucked what I needed off the shelf.

At first I bought this monitor just as a temporary monitor until I buy a legit, bigger monitor because I was planning on using dual monitors and use this one as a sub monitor since it can pivot and rotate 180. A month after I got this DELL monitor I bought BENQ gaming monitor. As I planned, I started using BENQ as a main and this one as a sub (rotated). However, while I was playing bunch of 3D steam games, (resident evil 6, witcher 3 etc) I realized that this DELL monitor was the real bad-ass. Of course BENQs bigger, but the color is just not as good as that of DELLs. Ive been using the standard stock setting for my DELL monitor and the clearness, sharpness and color temperature blah blah (I dont know much about this color related jargon so Imma just skip) are JUST SOOOOOOOO Amazing and WAAAAAy better. I have tried every single options for the BenQ monitor (Hue Temp Contrast Saturation bla bla whateva) but It never had same amazing feeling as Dells heavenly screen. I dont even know how to put this but its like watching DELLs monitor is like looking at a nicely cut chocolate squares while watching other monitors are like watching the same thing but all melted and squashed.. I mean this monitor is not even ULTRA SHARP model yet it has the best screen quality and color I have ever experienced. Bottom line, I ended up using this as a main monitor and the bigger gaming monitor as a sub monitor on the side.. cause I would rather play games with smaller screen with better quality than bigger, less fine quality. So I guess that pretty much explains how freakin awesome this monitor is. It was on sale and I got this for $159, and I think this monitor worth way more than that. I would even pay $300 for this monitor if I break mine and have to buy again (and if the price went up). Dont hesitate and just buy this. U WONT REGRET!
