I like everything about this keyboard BUT it freezes in mid game from time to time. Build quality is nice. But it just sucks that i have to keep unplugging it and plug it back in when the keyboard freezes in mid game. It seems like their software is still in the beta and no software updates last i checked. Stick to the Ducky keyboards in my opinion.

The board is excellent, but I really want to highlight the software. Multiple profiles/layers can be configured and then flashed to the onboard memory so you dont need to always have third party software running, which is the most frustrating thing about many modern peripherals (looking at you Razer). The onboard memory is great for use with multiple PCs or at work. You can also assign individual RGB settings which helps if you are remapping a layer for macros and want to color code them.

I own allot of keyboards from the Ducky Mecha, Drop Alt High Profile, Logitech G915 Lightspeed Wireless which is are all awesome keyboard. But I find the DROP ALT HIGH PROFILE to be a HUGE money pit and got rid of it and this keyboard replaced it. The problem with the Drop Alt was they basically lure in with a $200 price range but then increase it to $270 then you add up all of the KEYCAPS, and other upgrades I was over $400 into a starters kit. And the problem with the DUCKY MECHA is hard to find keycaps. I am using the G915 as my daily driver and it is flawless. But for my second setup I wanted a keyboard to have a nice outer solid feel, with great parts and no need to do modding to make it better. Well this is the KEYBOARD for you because I purchased the Cherry MX SILENT RED and I love them smooth as butter and super quiet. I do not feel any rattling keys like on the DROP ALT. This is a VERY WELL MADE keyboard. And you can find replaceable keycaps on this model as well with no problems and ordered a HyperX Double Shot PBT Keycaps should go nicely with my new PC build.

Picked this up in box whites. First off, if you have never typed on box whites and you enjoy a clicky switch (even if you dont you should really give these a try if you havent) then these are the switches for you. They are not super loud like mx blues, they are not scratchy at all, they are super smooth except for the slight bump you feel when going over the click bar. Kailh BOX Whites are some of the best clicky switches on the market right now. They are right up there with BOX Jades imo. I actually prefer these because they are just so good to type on. They even work well for gaming. This keyboard is an amazing production board. The build quality is up there with any production board on the market. The stabilizers are lubed and there is no rattle to be found. The switch selection should have something for everyone here. If you havent tried BOX switches and are debating on this board I would recommend any of them. No key wobble here. The RGB is fantastic and very vibrant, and the board offers a lot of options and even custom lighting you can set up in the software (which was easy to download and use). The aluminum case makes this thing feel like a tank. My only gripe with the Hades 68 has been remedied by the addition of PBT doubleshot, seamless, shine-through caps. I am in love with this thing and will be using it for all of my work that I do at home. The typing experience is so satisfying with the BOX whites. I own just about every production 60% board you can buy (2 Ducky One 2 Minis, Vortex Pok3r, Anne Pro, Anne Pro 2, RK61, etc.) and this is right up there with the Ducky One 2 Mini and Pok3r. Heck, the Pok3r wishes it had these quality stabilizers. If you are on the market for a 60% board and dont want to go with a Ducky One 2 Mini, grab one of these and you wont be disappointed. Get some BOX switches and you will not be disappointed. I even hear in the future they will be offering even more switch options. I will not hesitate to grab another one of these when BOX Jades are available in it. I also want to try one with the BOX Reds. I have said it numerous times in this review, you really cannot go wrong here. It checks all the boxes. I will still use my Ducky One 2 Mini for my primary gaming board, but for everything else the Durgod HK Venus will be on my desk for the forseeable future. Only way I replace it (will never take over my custom) is when I get another Venus if it comes out in the color white and with Box Jades inside.

I’m deleting my original review and updating it with 2 Stars, but more like 2.5 Stars after using this keyboard for 4 months. I want to first start off by saying HK Gaming in the Durgod Discord Server has been more than helpful but I believe that this keyboard has several issues that most people might not be aware of. The keyboard itself is beautiful. I purchased two of them, one white with Gateron Yellows and the other black with Kailh Box Reds. It has a nice aluminum finish, didn’t notice any imperfections in the paint as some reviewers have mentioned. The switches and stabs are lubed generously and it feels like a premium keyboard but falls short of it on everything else. I used both on Windows and Mac, although it’s not officially supported on macOS. I among several others was experiencing the “freezing” issue that infamously plagues this keyboard and makes it feel like maybe it wasn’t quite ready for production. I personally think it’s a mass production PCB issue but from what I’m told by HK Gaming is “the issue occurs under very specific environments” What that exactly means they won’t say. The issue also seems be to isolated to the USB C cable and if you’re experiencing the “freezing” issue you are to request an “upgraded cable” and will take 30 days for it to arrive. Fast forward 30 days later and I’m still experiencing the “freezing” issues even with the upgraded cable. I thought to myself “maybe it’s because I’m using this on a Mac and it’s not officially supported” so I try the upgraded cable on my other keyboard I use for gaming on my PC and the issue still occurs. I also by the way never received my upgraded cable for the black keyboard. It seems it was lost in transit and was sent another one which has yet to arrive. This to me is unacceptable for a $100+ keyboard. The build quality is top notch and feels premium but the main purpose of a keyboard is for it to just work and this this exactly what it falls short of. You could have the nicest looking, most premium feeling keyboard with lubed stabs and switches and custom keycaps but if it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do then you have a nice display piece on your desk. This is my personal experience with two of these keyboards, Durgod Venus. I might just be considered lucky to have had these issues but when I look at all the people in the Durgod Server and so many people are requesting cables, this tells me there’s something beyond an “environmental” issue at hand and somewhere during the manufacturing process or the vendor used to supply the PCB is faulty to say the least. If you don’t believe me, join their Server and see for yourself how many people are requesting an “upgraded cable” For some, maybe a lot more than I know this “upgraded cable” is fixing their issues but you shouldn’t have a flaw in a product to only then have to request an “upgraded cable”, free or not. This keyboard has the potential to be such an amazing keyboard for its quality and value but it falls short of that because of a “faulty cable” and even then might not work. I did explore my next options and would need to ship the keyboard to China but I’m not doing that for two keyboards and be expected to pay for packaging. Add on Covid-19 and who knows when I’ll expect to receive a replacement when a cable sent one way takes 30 days to arrive, which again I’ll remind you I never received. I hope this helps anyone who is looking at an honest review of this product and knows what to expect should you end up going through the same things I did. Good luck on your purchase decision.

Owned this keyboard for a week now, and I am thoroughly impressed. Got mine white and with silent gateron browns and they sound insanely good. And the keyboard is heavy duty, the factory lube and dampening foam make it sound beautiful. Have not had the “freezing” issue what so ever, 10/10 would recommend

Really nice metal frame it has dampeners in it. Custom keys to fit in your hand well. Overall great keyboard.

Love the build quality of this keyboard, the price is right, and the software is pretty good. My second day using the keyboard it started freezing. Its not a huge deal when just typing. You can reset that by switching profiles or re-plugging the cable. In a game though, I need the keyboard to be reliable 100% of the time. I tried four 3rd party cables (which is not easy to find since the port is recessed quite a bit), but am running into the same issue. I chatted with support and they offered to send a better cable, which is great of them, but I really dont want to have to worry about needing a special cable to use this keyboard when I dont have the same issues with other keyboards.

You really cant go wrong here. I would say this is the best 60% production board on the market for around $100-$130 (depending on your switch choice). Seriously fantastic build quality, lubed stabilizers, plenty of switch options, and an excellent compiler software for re-mapping keys and playing with RGB. The tap function will make your forget about needing dedicated arrow keys forever. The Venus oozes quality with double-shot PBT shinethru keycaps and a cast aluminum chassis. My only gripe with this board is the spacebar seems to have a minor defect. The stabilizers on one side are a slightly uneven height that creates some pre-travel and wobble on the key, but this is a tiny grievance in consideration of all the good things about this product. Would definitely recommend.
