> 24 hourInstalled in my daughters panel. Easy install it will be well worth cost if her home is ever affected by a surge. It would be nice if they started making these as a plug in feature in new panels plugging in below main breaker and before the bus bars only draw back I can see would be homeowner would need to always have a spare on hand.

> 24 hourI had two units fail, installed on main panel that fried to a burned crisp, and now a second unit failed on a secondary panel. this one the light went out. After two failures I cant recommend.

> 24 hourInstalled this whole house surge protector on a new 50AMP breaker. Installation was a breeze, even though I moved all of my breakers down one slot in my panel so that this device would be on the bus bar nearest the incoming main utility power. Not sure it makes a difference. Some recommend being on the first breaker slot, others say it doesnt matter as the surge will follow the least resistance which will be the wires to the surge protector. Installed easily and I bought the flush mount cover kit which finished off the job nicely.

> 24 hourInstalled this unit after multiple appliances were affected by several surges during a couple of storms. Although there was significant lightening, I think the surges were caused by power from the utility going out and coming back on several times. It didn’t cause instant death to any of my equipment but over the next weeks, my control board went out on a sub zero fridge, then my microwave had an arc and went out, then the dishwasher control board failed, and finally a capacitor on my heat pump went out. I doubt it was coincidental so I purchased the Eaton unit to help arrest future surges that could affect the appliances since I do not have surge protectors installed at the appliance outlets. I selected this unit because the protection specs were better than the others with the exception of Siemens. Since the Eaton is half the price and only slightly less capable than the competitor unit...I decised this was a high quality unit for a great price. I had an electrician install the unit — charged $125 and took him maybe 30m. Looked pretty straightforward to do but I wasn’t comfortable working in the breaker box and learning on the job while handling live wires. Hopefully this unit helps with future surges although next time the power goes out, I will probably also switch off the main breaker until the power is restored as an extra precaution. I never fully believed that surges were a real issue but after replacing the dishwasher and microwave plus fixing the subzero and hvac....I am a believer. Although, I am still a little concerned that the VPR for whole house protectors is still >= 600V which would imply a 350V VPR on a surge protector at the outlet would give better protection for the appliances. Hopefully Eaton keeps me protected and for the electronics where the outlets are more easily accessible...I installed level 3 outlet / strip plug surge protectors.

> 24 hourEasy to install. Directions are clear and simple. Also purchased the over-priced faceplate, but it resulted in a clean looking result. Heres hoping Ill never have to find out if it works or not.

> 24 hourI hadnt really thought about this, and really didnt even know that something like this existed, until an electrician quoted this as part of a larger job. When he quoted it at $384 for the installation, I thought Id look into it to see if it was worth it. After reading the reviews here and on other sites I decided it was worth considering. Now - if you are not comfortable installing a new circuit breaker in your panel, skip this. If you are comfortable with getting inside your panel, this install is just as easy as installing any standard double pole breaker. This install took me under 30 minutes from the time I started opening the panel to the last screw going in. The system is now shining two green lights at me when I go past the panel providing another layer of peace of mind. As far as it working or not - I have no idea. I dont plan on sending a huge power surge through my system to find out, I just trust that a company like Eaton will stand behind the warranty if I ever do have a problem. Until then, I have another thing to feed my OCD as I look for the green lights every time I walk past my panel. I will also think about the $250+ I saved for 30 minutes of work.

> 24 hourI installed this to be the first line of defense for my home in Florida. We have a tremendous amount lightning and after a storm in mid July I decided I needed to make a change. I have APC surge protectors at every device but I wanted even more protection. We have had multiple storms and nothing has been damaged since the installation. I hope to never need it but I know it is there now. I highly recommend!

> 24 hourIn installed this in our Forest River trailer, behind the power distribution panel (DP), next to the converter. I was able to screw it to the floor, pull the wires through an unused access hole in the back of the DP, and connect it to a circuit breaker. Works great (but then again, how would I know?). Easier in the long run than one of the inline surge protectors commonly used for trailers.
