> 3 dayExceptional speakers. Got these to put in my workshop. I cant believe how big and clear these speakers sound. I didnt believe what people were talking about when they mentioned a break in period, but its true. After running these for hours a day over the last week, they have really opened up and for speakers this size, they really sing. They are quite balanced throughout the sonic spectrum. The treble and midrange are great. The bass has opened up and if pushed correctly would probably put out enough bass to satisfy most listeners. Im not a bass junkie but did add a sub to round out the sound in lower listening levels. I know that there are better speakers out there. But I think it would be a challenge to find speakers that sound this good in this price range.

> 3 dayThe reviews of these speakers generally tend to rave about them, in particular for their balanced sound and substantially better bass response than youd expect for a speaker this size. The speakers are front-ported, which means the best bass response doesnt require that they be pulled out away from the wall. Im using them as main speakers in a home theater, and this Goldilocks combination of compact size and good frequency response makes them perfect for that purpose. Be warned that the price on these varies quite a bit. I was watching amazon for about a month and saw the price range from $240 up to $279, and I finally got them on sale for $199 (the list price is $329) At the price I paid, they undoubtedly a bargain, but I would have bought them at $240-250 if that was the best price I could find. Seriously, these are very, very good speakers for the price.

> 3 dayThe sound quality is incredible with a perfect balance of highs, lows and base. The speakers work fantastic when listening to LP’s. The sound from the speakers fill a large open townhouse with warmth and clarity.

> 3 dayThese speakers replaced my much loved Jaycar bookshelf units which suddenly gave up the ghost. The overall response of the speakers is quite adequate with nice clean bass. Sometimes at moderate levels the midrange may sound a little muddy- but it maybe its my old ears! Notwithstanding, Im very pleased with my purchase and would recommend purchasing them from Amazon.

> 3 dayGreat frequency response, good output. I use them as recording monitors. They are flat in the top end, and I tend to liek things a little softer in the top end, so I arbitrarily roll off the top end from 10khz at 0, to down 3db at 20khz. A very small change that for me, usually makes speakers less bright. I had the Pioneer SP-BS41-LR, also designed by Jones, for years. I would characterize these (by flawed human dead reckoning) as more accurate, and probably they have less distortion over all. The stereo field (again guessing) seems more distinct than my Pioneer SP-BS41-LR speakers - which Ive loved all these years.
