Engineer SS-02 Solder Suction Device

> 3 dayI have used many desolder tool over the years. This one by far has the most quality construction. Lot of suction and the flexible nozzle allows greater contact with molten solder. The plunger also cleans out what was sucked before very very effectively. Unlike what it says in description, the unit I received is made in Japan not China and it shows up in quality too. My only issue is that it is smaller in size than the ones I am used to. My natural grab posture puts one of my fingers very close to the nozzle tip. Maybe it just needs some getting used to. Otherwise, very happy with the purchase and at the price it is a steal.

> 3 dayI cut a section off one tube and finaggled it onto a cheap $12 desolder pump tip to give it better suction. The tube itself has a small diameter so I was afraid it would tear if pushed too hard, but I got it onto a screwdriver and transferred it to the desolder pump and can say that its fairly durable. It didnt melt at 380°C, but the small diameter means that youll have to manually unclog the pump since the lead/tin globs get stuck in the tube

> 3 dayWhy didnt I order one of these years ago? Works better than expected.

> 3 dayI got these to add onto my cheap pump since the heat rating was much higher than any silicone tubes I was able to find. Holds up well against the heat of the soldering iron. But the inner diameter is much smaller than expected so it restricted the vacuum pressure of the pump. May be worth trying larger diameter silicone tubing with lower temperature rating.

> 3 dayThe product arrived without any physical damage or cosmetic imperfections. I found that a lot of people say that the tube for the nozzle is too expensive for the quality, which the manufacturer offers. While one part of it is true, the other part is not. The tube is quite sturdy and resistant to heat. I used it with a soldering iron set to 380 degrees Celsius and I was de-soldering an 87 key mechanical keyboard. Personally, for me that is enough, even if thats overpriced. If youre going to do a lot of work with a solder sucker, then get something that John W. told about in his review.

> 3 dayIve used solder suckers plenty, and was in the market to buy an electric solder sucker for $250. Amazon suggested this, and it is the best non electric sucker I have ever used. I dont have a need for the electric version now.
