Engineer SS-02 Solder Suction Device

Dont bother with cheap solder suckers. Spend the few dollars more and get this one and never look back. Ive had my share of $5-10 suckers and they all fail within a year of hobby use. This one will make my second one of these mostly because I misplaced the original!

I was very excited to try out this desolder pump after reading good reviews and having a couple of cheap $5 pumps break on me. Big surprise to me that the pump broke half way through desoldering my keyboard on the first day. At first I was slightly concerned because the pump would sometimes not catch on the hook when you primed it and I had i push down really hard for it to catch and now pump wont work at all!! very disappointed especially since i paid 6 times the price for a nice pump only for it to work like a cheap one. would not recommend

The construction of this pump is very solid, the silicon tubing withstands the irons heat, and the pump very efficiently cleans even large holes of nearly all solder.

This is my first solder sucker but I can say it works just fine. Sometimes I have a hard time re-loading it since I forget to take my thumb off the release button. The tip is silicone so you need to press it up against the board and the iron to get a reasonable seal. Works well. They give you some replacement silicone tubing to replace the tip when it gets old and cracked up. Sometimes Id plug the nozzle up a little but it was easy to work the tip around a little and get it to fall out. If I was doing much de-soldering though, Id buy a de-soldering iron. Since the price is quite high compared to most others and not a lot of used solder discharges on each reload, Ill go 4 stars.

Omg i was looking for a cheap one then went ehh i hated the one in school let me get a metal one and while im at it let me get a smaller one so it stays in my desk that put me up at the 12$ range then i read reviews of that one saying ehh im sure its great but it just feels cheap to that someone replied with a link to this and right away first review said man i feel like i could run this over and itd still last 100 lifetimes. They were not kidding this thing is perfect in every way .

It sucks very good. I noticed that sometimes I have issues until I add little of Leaded solder.
