Engineer SS-02 Solder Suction Device

I bought this after using several other cheaper/lower quality solder suckers. This is fantastic. The ability to place directly on the hot work makes it easy to use and the strong spring pulls even the highest quantity of solder off.

This is a very well built desoldering pump. Excellent design, high quality, feels durable (Im sure it is made to last). But there are too many drawbacks for such a nice tool: It is too small it makes a difficult task handling it (I am 6 0) Plunger is too hard to push, resulting in stress to your hand in continuous use. It also gets stuck sometimes. Nozzle is too small it makes cleaning in hard-to-reach areas a pain. Silicon tip makes complicated its self-cleaning feature. Other than that, if you are a hobbyist, and do not care about speed, this is the right tool for you. I highly recommend it.

There are so many chineseum soldier sucker devices out there and this one is the best and will last a long time. I know a friend who does electronic repairs and has been using the sucker device and never failed.

I spent years using some of the $10 cheaper units doing quite a bit of desoldering. The cheaper ones do the job fairly well but they do have a more limited lifespan. This one has some decent suck, and the replaceable tip, which is merely a short piece of silicone tubing, is pretty cool. Build quality is great and its got some good suck! Worth stepping up for this one if youre at least a frequent hobbyist. If youre looking for something to just use a time or two, the cheap ones will probably suffice.

Great, well-built tool. I cant imagine trying to use a solder sucker without a flexible silicone tip.

This product works well. It takes a little bit to get used to it because it is small and it could jump out of your hand if not held properly. The tip can come easily off so I tied a little piece of wire to hold it in place. It could be cheaper for what it is.

Ive had lots of cheap solder suckers in the past and never had one that worked well. I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy this more expensive one and I am so glad I did. This thing puts all other suckers to shame. Its all metal and seems really high quality. And the thing works fantastic. I actually had mine a while and lost it and had to immediately buy another one because I cant imagine having to remove solder without it now. If you are on the fence, let me say you wont regret buying this thing.

Nice product, but speedy shipping is why I buy stuff on Prime, and if Amazon isnt offering 2 day shipping with a prime membership anymore, then all of my reviews on great products will be mediocre because of the speed factor. Amazon, fix your mess up or face the consequences. Vendors - see these reviews and put some pressure on Amazon to fix their mess-up. Great product, sub-par fulfillment from Amazon. Faster shipping for the same product on ebay.
