> 24 hourThis stuff doesnt work if you coat it on badly rusted surfaces with a paint brush, or even if you soak cloths in it and wrap it around rusted item and leave it for 24 hours. What does work extremely sell is pouring it into a bucket and entirely submerging the rusted object and leaving it for 24 hours. So I dont recommend it for the rusted bolts on your boat trailer wheels, which is what I originally bought it for, but it worked wonders on the garden tools that were badly rusted because my life never cleans them off after use. It just completely cleaned up clippers, trowels, a hammer and other tools.

> 24 hourTook apart a few rusty bicycle drive-trains and threw them into a shallow plastic container and let it sit over night and boom, they all came out shiny and pristine. Just follow the instructions that come with it and have some patience for the chemicals to work folks... its not that hard.

> 24 hourIm trying this stuff out on my old pickup truck that lived its previous life near, around or maybe in the sea. These are the first parts through and you can see that it does a pretty decent job. I will say that I thoroughly cleaned and wire-brushed before an over night soak. It removed a lot of the rust. Theres a thin film of black goo on most of them that comes off pretty easily. It was a lot less work to soak these than the previous parts where I just sanded and wire brushed them.

> 24 hourI have used many rust removers in the past. ALL of them required gloves, careful disposal and some even called for wearing masks. They all left much to be desired. This stuff is amazing! Let the rusted item soak for a few hours and before you know it, the rust is gone...I mean totally gone! I used this on an antique metal bank and was delighted when the rust came off, but all the paint remained in place and as bright as ever. I have since used it on all kinds of antiques and have never been disappointed. Best of all, it is non-toxic and completely safe. You can even pour it down the drain without fear of polluting! The only environmental concern is for the rust particles. Not a real concern at all.

> 24 hourLeaving rusted metal in Evaporust over night will get rid of the rust. It will not repair pitting or loss of metal from oxidation, obviously. I use it frequently to restore connective performance with Lionel train tracks. It is advertised as neither toxic nor corrosive to the skin. I have never had a skin irritation from using it, but I would wash my hands quickly after using it. It probably should not be left around children or ingested in any way.
