I had 5 ratchet wrenches that were rusted solid. After a few days soaking in this they all started working again. All the rust was gone. I found a couple cast iron pans that were thick in rust. Two days after soaking they looked almost new. Just needed to re-season them. It has removed the rust on many of my rusty garden tools . Super easy to use.

This stuff works really well. I tried it on some rusty nails that I left out a little too long in the rain and humidity of Florida it literally ate the rust away. Left the nails submerged for 12 hrs. periodically agitating them and the rust just fell off. They still have a bit of a rusty looking color/slighty tarnished but they are free from that flakey rust. For not having to do anything but cover them in the solution and come back half a day later Ill take that any day of the week, zero elbow grease required.

Can take hours or overnight, but it works well, and seems much less caustic/toxic than the traditional rust removers. Can use it without gloves

I was not expecting this to work as well as it did. The top part of this rusty thing shows what the whole thing looked like before I soaked it. I don’t remember how long I soaked it. I had soaked some old tools for 20-30 minutes and they came out awesome, so I threw this rusty thing in the same jar I had used for them then wandered off to work on another project. I was floored when I pulled it out and wiped it off with a rag. It’s like magic.

This stuff really worked well removing surface rust from a bunch of wood lathe parts (some cast iron, some tool steel, some stainless) as well as a few drill bits and black oxide tools. After soaking overnight, I rinsed them, scrubbed them lightly with a wire brush, re-dipped them again and then put some protective oil on them. I did not submerge any of the parts that contained bearings - those I just surface treated by wrapping them in a paper towel soaked in Evaporust for a couple hours. I also did this on the lathe bed itself, and I was really surprised how well it worked. I had one drill bit that had some heavy corrosion on it, and of course it didn’t work on that, but at this point I think that bit is already dead!

    Greater than one week

Anyone who thinks this stuff doesnt work clearly isnt using this correctly. Make sure to clean any dirt, grease, or grime off before soaking. This stuff works great at removing rust without eating away at the metal. It doesnt burn if it touches you or gets on something (leaves a yellowish mark after it dries) and is easy to cleanup. The only real downside I found is that it could remove paint from your tool as well depending on what kind of coating you have. Ive been restoring an old drill press and this has worked wonderfully.

Like= price, delivery and how this product works. Dislike= 0. I am a convert. This product works amazingly well. Read the instructions. If using on blued items it will completely strip the bluing. Much easier to use and clean up than vinegar.

Let me start by saying I’m not new to rust removal. I’ve used everything from vinegar to CLR to muriatic acid and everything in between to remove rust and while they all work to some extent, they all have drawbacks. Vinegar is poor unless you use the commercial strength, CLR and Muriatic Acid both work, but you must be very careful as both will dissolve your metal in the process. This stuff is awesome. Don’t rush it, give it time to soak and you’ll be very pleased with the results. Another plus is that I’ve soaked Chrome plated tools in this and they come out clean and still shiny. Other products will actually dissolve the chrome coating.

I use this stuff on every rusty part I get my hands on!! Works best warn, I have noticed [room temp., as opposed to overnight outside.] Clean the part as best you can speeds derusting time, as well. I was trying to press out a stuck bearing out of a old, rusty steering knuckle that would not budge with 50 tons of press pressure!! Tried oils, heating and nothing!! soaked overnight outside in evapo-rust and the bearing move a little. then, soaked overnight again in my shop. The next day one bearing came out by hand, the other with a light pressing. I liked Evapo-Rust before, that press sold me!! Now, I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!
