> 24 hourThis worked very well for me--I tossed some moderately rusted c-clamps and garden clippers into a small plastic tub (with a snap-on lid) with the solution, and they came out rust-free*, with just a bit of black dust in some areas that needed to be brushed/washed off. (After wiping the tools down with a terry-towel to dry them off and remove any remaining solution, I treated them all with Ballistol Aerosol Lubricant Cleaner Protectant.) As a bonus tip, I left a handful of neodymium magnets in the bath for a week or two, and a lot of evidently iron filings have been attracted to the magnets, and the used solution has cleared up very significantly! (Apparently, the byproduct of the reaction is elemental iron, not some oxide or other compound of iron...) If you like to pick up old tools in so-so condition at yard sales and such, this stuff could be quite an effort-saver, quite a boon! *In fact, I inadvertently left the clamps in the solution for several days, and boy did they come out clean!!)

> 24 hourI found an old bag of tools in a boat that I bought and they were all rusted. Before throwing them away I decided to see if they could be cleaned. I let them soak over night in evapo-rust and wow, I’m impressed. I was going to throw away the screw driver pictures but decided to let it soak part way to see how much of a difference it made. Now I have hundreds of dollars of usable good tools. I’m so glad I tried evapo-rust before tossing these tools.

> 24 houryou can remove even terrible rust if you let it soak long enough. but it only does rust, not any other kind of corrosion.. oh and it eats spray paint. do not put things you want to keep the finish intact. the spray paint dissolves and just comes right off. other types of paint seem sturdy. you have to wash this stuff off because its sticky after. and dont get it on your skin. they say its safe but it totally dried out my hands. should you get the 3 gallon? no, its like $80 and all you get is a dip bucket, instead buy 3 - 1 gallon containers of this and buy your own pail from the paint store and a colander. the only downside to this stuff is finding a container large enough so i can submerge things. and you may not have enough liquid. and while it can be reused, some of the liquid will leave through evaporation or it just stays on the metal. anyway this will remove the rust, letting you go right to a wire wheel or make sandblasting a lot easier. it can take an hour or may take a day or two if its really bad.

> 24 hourThis product really is awesome. I’ve used it on a variety of projects and it removes even the worse rust overnight. It’s terrific because you can use it over and over multiple times. A real value and useful item in any shop.

> 24 hourI got an old vice from my father in law that was completely rusted. I spent couple of hours using penetrating oil to break out the old bolts and get the vice torn down then cleaned it up with a degreaser. With the vice apart and clean, I soaked it over night in a 5 gallon bucket with Evaporust and it worked amazingly! All of the rust was removed down to the bare steel. I applied black oxide to protect the steel, put the vice back together and it looks and works good as new! Very impressed and would highly recommend evaporust. I live in a cold climate and the instructions recommend using above 65 degrees F. I had to bring the bucket in the house in order to make sure it was above 65. As a previous reviewer said be patient and it will work, especially with heavy rust.

> 24 hourI have used this product for years. It does what it claims. I have used it on rusty bolts and screws with very good results. I bought the gallon this time as I was going to need a lot to cover the rusty tools I just inherited. It did a great job of bring them back. It wont cure deep pitting, but it made the tools look great.

> 24 hourThis stuff is awesome I first bought a much smaller bottle from Harbor Freight but I like it so much that I came here to Amazon to buy the big jug. It does an awesome job on safely removing rust from old hand tools like a hand plane or old hammers and Axes. Some of the other chemical rust remover is to strong and I would be concerned about damaging and wood pieces and old screws & other hardware that can be found on some old tools that someone might be trying to restore. So this Evapo- Rust is great stuff I definitely recommend it.

> 24 hourThis is hands down the best rust remover there is , no messy gels like others and it doesnt harm other components, I needed this to clean out a atv gas tank and it removed the rust so quick I could literally get back to riding within a few hours. Also this can be reused alot of times ... all you have to do is strain it to get the rust out of the solution and your good.
