> 3 dayMy mother in law moved in, life obviously took a turn for the worst. I have a lot of tools, we have a farm, farm tools are abused, some left out when they shouldnt be. Its been days now and Ive de-rusted tools that most people would have chucked in the trash...some tools older than I am. I also owe my life to evaporust, I havent been inside the house in days, shes still in there...so I just soak my tools, use some stainless steel brushes, shop rags and live the life one should live....sans a mother in law. I love you evaporust.

> 3 dayHelped me in the restoration of my grandfather’s hand tools. Read and follow the directions. You need to rinse the items you treat afterwards and treat them with a lubricant or wax to prevent further rust.

> 3 dayMy basement was flooded during a flood, had tools in the water for many weeks. They were rusty, nasty, and I thought I would have to buy new tools. NO I did not. This stuff works amazingly. heavily rusted items I left in over night, and the next morning were free and clear of rust, and gunk. The wonderful thing is that you can reuse this over and over and over. I did more than 100 tools just from this gallon, and all came out spotless. Then you just pour it back into the container and use again. Best purchase I have ever made.

> 3 dayI hoped this would be effective, but was a little skeptical. Very old rust on a hundred year old vise, and under carriage of a wheelbarrow. If you can break the parts down, and put them in a bucket that allows the parts to be submerged, then let it sit overnight; you will be amazed! I highly recommend!

> 3 dayIm not sure why I waited so long to try Evapo-Rust. Im literally running around the shop looking for things to remove rust from now. Im near the coast and we know what salt and humidity do to metal tools. The pics are less than two hours apart and Im seeing a world of difference.

> 3 dayThis is a great rust-remover, but involves some extra effort. You cant just brush it on, wait an hour, wipe it off and, bingo, get results. I used it to restore the working surface of a band saw plate. After detaching the surface from the saw I placed it, face down, in a shallow, disposable aluminum roasting pan and added just enough of the remover fluid. I let it soak overnight and the next morning took it out of the pan and wiped it off. The rust was still there but appeared, what....tacky. I then used a Nyalox 240 grit nylon cup brush (also available on Amazon) on a cordless drill to clean off the tacky rust. I had to dip the brush periodically in some mineral spirits. This took some time, I guess about 30 minutes for 1-1/2 square feet of surface. It worked great, however, taking the surface down to a clean, rust-free surface. I have read that a coarser grit brush would somehow damage the work piece. I finished it off with a thick coating of SC Johnson Paste Wax and it looks like a new place. Slippery as all get out.

> 3 dayId been skeptical, so before I bought it I read a lot about it, and how it works. When I finally bit the bullet, I used it on some small parts from a project car that Im restoring. I was...shocked. I only bought a gallon, and some of these parts wouldnt fit in a gallon (required flipping) but the difference was night and day. The part that was submerged was virtually rust free! The rest just looked like nothing had been done, but that makes sense, since at that point it had not. Flipped the part, and had a rust free part with nearly zero hands-on work. My only wish was that it was less expensive. I could certainly use a lot more of it, for larger parts, but a 55 gallon drum costs nearly a grand.

> 3 dayHave used Evapo-Rust before and only the price has inhibited me in the past, as most of my projects were trivial and could be finished by other methods. It is a safe, chelation process specific to iron oxide and it works very well effortlessly. I have a container filled with it and drop small items in the solution when I encounter rusty tool bits and parts. It leaves a gummy residue that needs to be rinsed off, but it is very effective. It remains effective even after it darkens and looks spent. Not my only rust treatment method but certainly the easiest and safest.

> 3 dayI bought it based on the YT video by Adam Savage of Mythbusters fame. It is NOT a quick fix for your rusted parts. But, it DOES work.
