> 3 dayIf youre trying to remove the rust from tools or small items, this works great. If youre looking to remove rust from larger surfaces or thick rust, you need to spend some time with the wire brush. It works great and Id use it again.

Greater than one weekAmazing product. Its one of those few products that do exactly what it says it does and exceeds expectations. I used to do the soak in vinegar and gently sand with aluminum foil trick now i just soak my rusted parts in a bath of evapo-rust for 24 hours, just wipe down and rinse off. Seriously try this. I restore vintage bikes, perfect for fenders, sprockets, bolts, parts etc.

> 3 dayWorks quick and removed all my rust from 50 year old metal parts. This stuff is a life-saver! No more grinding and using naval-jelly acids... No fumes... no toxic smells to breathe... just soak parts overnight and the rust is gone, I reused the gallon over and over to de-rust an entire motorcycle.

Greater than one weekI got an old vice from my father in law that was completely rusted. I spent couple of hours using penetrating oil to break out the old bolts and get the vice torn down then cleaned it up with a degreaser. With the vice apart and clean, I soaked it over night in a 5 gallon bucket with Evaporust and it worked amazingly! All of the rust was removed down to the bare steel. I applied black oxide to protect the steel, put the vice back together and it looks and works good as new! Very impressed and would highly recommend evaporust. I live in a cold climate and the instructions recommend using above 65 degrees F. I had to bring the bucket in the house in order to make sure it was above 65. As a previous reviewer said be patient and it will work, especially with heavy rust.

> 3 dayI used this to strip the rust off of garden tools. It worked very well after a 24 hour soak, though a little rubbing with fine steel wool was required to get the deeper rust off. I also stripped very heavy rust off of a small antique birdbath made of cast iron. The birdbath is ornate so getting the rust out of various undulations required a little wire brush on a Dremel tool. After eight garden tools and the birdbath, one gallon of this product was exhausted, but I think it was money well spent.

> 3 dayImmerse parts in it overnight and rust is gone and the parts arent turned black like Total Boat or another one I have used. For parts that cant be removed and you spray it on you will have to continually be spraying every 15 minutes to 1/2 hr. This method takes a long, long time. It is a slow-rust remover and also as it is evaporating you will go through a gallon. For parts that can be immersed, it works great.

> 3 dayLet me start by saying I’m not new to rust removal. I’ve used everything from vinegar to CLR to muriatic acid and everything in between to remove rust and while they all work to some extent, they all have drawbacks. Vinegar is poor unless you use the commercial strength, CLR and Muriatic Acid both work, but you must be very careful as both will dissolve your metal in the process. This stuff is awesome. Don’t rush it, give it time to soak and you’ll be very pleased with the results. Another plus is that I’ve soaked Chrome plated tools in this and they come out clean and still shiny. Other products will actually dissolve the chrome coating.
